    Excellent, black liner was a bonus
  2. #1 rule of the intrawebs, never assume anything Anyway, looks like you are well on the way to making a excellent product so props to you.
  3. 280ZX, best looking race car of all the Z's.
  4. OK but I was talking about getting the actual headlight (scoop) housings and making your headlight covers to fit them.
  5. Wouldn't you be better off buying/borrowing a pair of headlight scoops so you can be sure what you make will fit? It's not like the scoops will be damaged so any bought could be resold later on.
  6. 1973 Bathurst
  7. 72 views and no comment? Anyway I did a like, seems like a hell of a gap between gears there.
  8. Heaps of pics in the book, little known period of racing outside the US but definately the most definitive indicator of comparative performance. Z cars bang for buck FTW.
  9. Got the Winning paperback the other day, mainly because his era saw the most level playing field Z related motorsport in the world and that's what interested me the most. But his personal story seems interesting too, looking forward to reading about it. Heaps of pics in the book.

    There is also the question of how much money do you want to spend on the engine and what modifications to it are allowed. For the right money good power can be made from a smaller capacity L series engine, see http://www.performanceforums.com/forums/showthread.php?67302027-Doing-some-stupid-$^!#-to-an-old-datsun-head How does 237hp @ 7250rpm from a two litre suit you?

    Going by that 'historic racing' video it looks like there are no rules, drive what you bring As the experts have said, check out the situation at the tracks where you want to race, talk to the officials, check the cars out, see what you have to do to get to go racing. Enjoy.

    There is this British garage that should be able to help http://datsun240z.co.uk/ and this place has S30 fibreglass panels http://www.mjpshop.co.uk/

    Not many euro people here, I guess that you will have to join a club to get a track licence so why not start there? Rules can be very location specific, it might help if you mention where you want to race.

    Assume that the Z spun, strange looking circuit, looks like a hill climb track without the hill. Nice to see a S30 in yurrop though even if it has problems chasing down a British Ford Escort and some sort of underpowered Porker.

    Man, I'd just about give my left one to race on that circuit, speed and more speed
  21. :: One to you.

    Thanks for the video Chris, fun to watch. I was entered to go but due to uncertain engine problems did not risk it, intend to enter next year.
