Generally, cheaper HVLP guns are used for priming, and the more expensive are used for finish paint. Most painters like to use a different gun for each color. So they use the cheaper one for primer since the primer gets a lot of workover anyway. But do not think that a cheap gun could not be used for a decent finish spray. Some painters will tell you that some $99 HVLP guns are as good as a $500 gun. Of course full time, experienced painters could probably use a spray bomb and make it look good. Look at this site: http://www.lambolounge.com/ Read the Body and Paint sections. Very good comments to learn from. Good Luck
  2. Goof-Off is the best. Not the sissy no smell stuff, the really nasty smelling stuff. I heard that it is the same thing as lighter fluid, but it does not smell as good as lighter fluid. Do not get Goof-Off on plastic! It may melt it. Do not get it on rubber, It will dull it down fast. This means do not try to clean off your bumpers with this stuff. Goof-Off will make you dizzy then sick, if you use it too long in a closed space. I think the fumes alone may scare off some of that jute. By the way, Aircraft Stripper will take off the adhesive too. Of course, it will remove the paint also.
  3. Guus, It is a shame they can't get it right. They probably use the same font for all of them. As they say, close but no cigar. Thank you for pointing it out. Jon

Speaking of Home Depot, I found some stuff in the roofing department that is the same thing as Brown Bread or Dynamat. It is called Peel & Seal. It went down very well, I used a heat gun and wall paper roller, just like you would with the others. It cost much less than the other brands and did a great job. It will stick to any clean surface including the existing stuff on the Z trans tunnel, if you wipe it down with paint thinner.

I hate to burst your bubbles, but.... Do you think that when you put on some decent miles during a hot day, that the air in the bubble stuff will heat and expand? Will it sound like pop corn popping? I am asking only because I do not know the answer. I know that a water heater t'stat is typically set at 125 F., but the trans tunnel in the Z can be hotter than that. Let us know, how it works out in the long run. Thank you,
