  1. Thanks, I might just stick with another R180 for now. BTW, what is the highest gear ratio for an R180 ??? Thanks Luke
  2. Hi, I have just done the diff in my 71' Zed and I have a spare R200 which has 4.5:1 diff gears (I think?) My question is what parts do I need other than the diff itself. Do I need 260z half shafts and moustache bar?? Any help would be required and vendors who could help me out in the South East Queensland Area, Australia. Thanks Luke

Thanks Guys for all your input. I'll get to work and post some shots when it's complete, and some feedback also on performance as well. Thanks Luke

I live on the Sunshine Coast in Australia ans through the Summertime it gets really warm. I'm talking up to 35 degrees celcius. Now engine cooling is not a problem as I have twin 11inch thermo fans on a re-cored radiator. My problem is severe engine power loss from extreme heat coming from the extractors. When I first start the car in the morning and drive to work it is very responsive until the engine gets warm then I think the webers start to suck in the hot air and the power is lost. I am looking for plans to make some sort of a heat shield to reduce the heat drawn in from the webers, or other ideas to help me with my problem. I have thought about the hot coated headers idea, but looking for something a bit cheaper. Thanks Luke

On second glance it does look weird. I just had a look at the car then..... its the photo, or my crack habit.

After I sold my first Zed, I thought I did the right thing, you know I needed the money and all. Then for every day after that I missed it so bad. Everytime I got into a car, I missed that old car smell.... That oil and fuel fragrance, the things that make you proud of what your driving. The Datsun Z car is "A piece of Automotive History" as my Dad would say, and the only way to replace it was....... with another. I only found out about it after seeing Alan at the Z car workshop in Brisbane. He told me of a lady that might sell one of the two Z's she had. And as the story goes, I was lucky enough to replace the missing member in my family.
  8. Can you replace the diaphram or is it easier to get a new pump. And if so where? Thanks Luke
  9. What seems to be the problem... At first I thought it must be the gasket between the fuel pump and the spacer, so I put on a new gasket and sealant. Then the problem persisted. It only leaks maybe 5-10ml after a 30km drive, but when the engine bay is nice and clean it can pi$$ me off no end. How can I fix this? After a second look closely with the car running and nice and warm, it is definately spitting out from that little hole on the fuel pump. Luke
  10. The suspension is in and it is unbelievably good! The old shocks were obviously crap, so when I inserted these Tokicos...... ooh yeah, I am not disappointed. I have them set on 3, and they feel so nice on the road. Here are some pics. By the way guys, thanks for all your help over these past 2 months, and without this forum I would be nowhere. Cheers Luke
