If you want you can just swap on a new 240sx gearbox with some modification on the bell housing. But I think Datsun spirit and Rebello racing both do rebuild gearbox.

Here's some useful linkshttp://www.datsunlinks.com/. I started my restomod this spring and I agree that we're slowly running out of choice. Luckily we still got this helpful community.

I got a set of carbs that rebello racing did some reboring and grinding needles... Not on my car yet but just so you know they do carbs too.

My 1971 radiator have a hose pointed strait to the ground. It also have metal clips holding the hose down.
  5. Is the trans working? How much is it? Will you be able to ship it?
  6. Well, Mine is close to your condition-actually worse Texas car, minor rust, crack windshield, floor pan needs replace, crush in front, bent radiator support, etc. I got it for 2200... I know it's not a nice price at all but not much people are willing to sell their car to a guy hundreds of miles away in Michigan. At least I got it and now I'm throwing a lot of effort into rebuilding everything... Wish you luck on that 240z and you're clever than me because you clearly did some research!

Wow. Didn't see that. Now all the parts on their online catalog is unavaluable... I guess I'll call them to see if there's anything left. I need a front bumper for my restomod!
  10. Nope. I'll check with them before they start regrinding.
  11. Thank you very much. I will install shorter valve seal just in case the camshaft have too much lift. Now the camshaft is on the way to delta, engine block going to machine shop soon, I'll keep working on the head. I guess I'll start buying parts now.
  12. Thanks. MSA didn't say it fits for SUs but I guess I'll try that.
  13. Going for MSA stage 3! Is that good for twin SUs? Otherwise I can change after the cam arrived at Delta.
  14. I just took the Camshaft out and planning on sending them to Delta Cam for a regrind. I asked the guy and he told me a .488 lift and 230 Duration@0.050" spec fits for my street proformance build. I will need some new lash pads indeed, But I'm worried about this much lift is good for piston clearence or not. Anybody has got their camshaft regrinded by Delta? What's your suggestion on the lift or duration?
  15. Thanks. This post really helps me a lot.
  16. The engine Gasket kit from Datsun sprint included head bolts.

  18. Zcar depot is a good place. Thanks for reminding me to put the anti freeze and gasket into my list. I'll never complete whtout these!

I bought my 7/71 for a cheap price because it's got a savage title. Everything looks fine and I'm rebuiliding the engine now.
  20. Very useful. Thanks. I got the price from most of the companies like Datsun Sprint, MSA, Z speciallists, etc. I didn't buy the fel-pro kit and I'm planning on get the big port gasket from Datsun Sprint. I'd better start looking for parts on Advance Auto. Save me more money and this project could go way more easier. Also I will get the turbo pump since everybody says it's a must.
  21. Well E88 is not a bad thing plus I need to save because it's a buget build after all. I'll try port the head to fit the reproductioned "Nismo" Gasket and see how it goes.

Is there anything I can save money/spend more on?
  23. Wonderful. I'm looking for all the stuff I need. I will make a list after I find all I need. Another question: Is the Nissan Gasket fits bigger ports? Otherwise I'll just buy a kit from Fel Pro. Much better that way.
  24. New plan: if I use the E88 head I have now with 44 and 35mm valves Regrind cam valve lift 0.430 and Duration @0.050" 230/230 Flat top piston(87mm) New springs Porting What do I do with the rocker arms? Can I do something and use it again? Or do I have to buy new ones? If this works I can really get the engine rebuild going.
  25. Thanks man. I did want to use this head but people kept telling me that the chamber design of late model E88s are just not good for proformance. Now I'm not sure if I want to find another one or just use this. I will get my old camshaft regrinded to a more aggresive one and that might actually work...
