Alright. I will relocate it. If the pump were to be touched the exhaust would go first. I guess I'll play safe. It should pickup fuel just fine.

I checked the ground clearance and found out that it's a hair higher than my exhaust. Don't know what they're thinking when they're designing this pump. The instructions said to keep the pump below fuel tank level, and I did my best... Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

Fuel tank is going in! I know it's not the best idea to use a car jack under the tank but the tank is not staying there long anyway. Hoses. I found out the compression springs that hardware store sell are perfect hose supporters. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

Got my car runningļ¼A LOT of problems though. Here's what I need to address: 1. The MSD ignition box fried itself. Now only the megnetic and hall effect input works... Do not buy old msd from Ebay... 2. Slight water leak from water pump; 3. Oil is slipping through the gap where the front cover and cylinder head meet, on the passenger side; 4. Need to route a battery power to rear of the car in order to get the antanna working, this can be delayed but it's easier to do with the breather tank off; 5. The 17mm breather hose kept kinking, need a coil inside to support it; 6. fuel tank need to go in, flush the fuel lines, wire the pump and float.

The tank uses a float attached to a long lever which drives what basically is a variable resistor. The gauge uses resistance to ground to estimate fuel level. I'm not and expert on this. Hope someone can answer your question. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  7. No problem. I searched on Yahoo Japan and found some of the old bumpers. As you can see the rubbers are short as usual. Also I have never seen a sticker like this on a 240z part... Here is another shot at the bumper part number sticker. My guess is this might be a aftermarket bumper with a "original part" sticker on it. People sell undrilled aftermarket bumpers but they usually call them怀ā€ē¤¾å¤–品ā€. I don't know. It's interesting. A early production bumper? Might be...
  8. My Malpassi was bought from England. The outlet and inlet are tapered which can fit both size fuel hoses. The fuel hose size for fuel line is 9mm and 7mm for return. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  9. Well all I can tell is the Japanese on sticker is saying "pure parts". I guess since it had this sticker on it might be a replacement part from Nissan. By the way, if you have a bumper in rough condition pls let me know if you want to sell it (budget you know). Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

All my lights are working. The old two function bulb in the tail are really bad... blew 2 fuses trying to find what's the problem. Turns out it draws too much amp. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

I'm not sure about the wire it might be a pressure sensor. If you want to ditch the old alternator with regulator go to qualitypower and buy a GM 1 wire alternator. Choose the 1" lower mount and cut off your lower alternator bracket a little. I had the 110amp model and fits perfectly. If you don't have a lot of electronic components to worry about they had a race special mini alternator that will for sure save some weight and space. I knew a old guy who rebuild Model A, he have 4 or 5 whole cars sitting in parts in his barn. He rarely do any restore now and they are rusting away. Hope 240z community can keep this from happening and help more people who are new to this game. Although Michigan doesn't have too many survivor Zs I'll sell whatever I don't need and buy from the community.

I might need a road trip too! . I kept wondering why there's so little parts on the net to be find... So it's all under someone's bed. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

  23. I'm building a daily 240z with L28. Twin SUs can be pretty reliable. If you're looking for something faster than a Miata stock 240z probably won't do without a swap. But they are fun to drive and work on that's for sure. At least that's what I heard. I would suggest rewiring and rebuilding engine. Get a car with good body is the first goal. I'm a newbie but this is what I believe. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
