Suspension/Wheel alignment adjustability
Mainly a street car, but I do want to be able to set it up for optimum handling but I do not need anything extreme.

Suspension/Wheel alignment adjustability
What are the best options to provide worthwhile adjustability in the 240/260Z and what is of little use or not recommended? Strut top plates Adjustable control arms Adjustable bushes Camber pins/bolts Adjustable radius/tc rods

motorsport goodwill
There have been huge non government contributions by charities all over the world, government contributions prove to be the most interesting in my opinion though showing political alignments and policies. Locally there have been nation wide concerts, and special international sporting events all donating proceeds in the millions to the cause. I beleive as this disaster has affected citizens of so many nations, was so sudden and the clarity of purpose to aid and rebuild all contribute to the global effort.

If only more countries and there governments were more concerned about a true humanitarian crisis. If you look at some of the amounts of aid given by some large economies compared to others it's appalling. January 11, 2005 Australia has announced the biggest pledge in its history: $US762 million ($A1.01 billion) Germany has also promised a massive package, totalling $US668 million ($A881.85 million) Japan, which has promised $US500 million ($A660.07 million United States has pledged $US350 million ($A462.05 million) I dont have other numbers on hand, but there were significantly small amounts from other European countries like France.

Is the vintageair kit in discussion the universal kit? If so, how does it fare in regards to mounting to the car body behind the dash?

Suspension questions for Aussies.
I used OEM rubber in the rear, from AllZParts, was about 30% cheaper than a Nissan dealer. I may just get the control arm and engine mounts OEM rubber and get the rest urethane, AllZParts have an adjustable camber bush kit, but I am a bit unsure whether that is the way to go or not. I beleive radius rods and tension/compression rods are the same thing. MSA have some sort of bush upgrade but I am not sure how it works I will probably get some WASP brand ball joints from AllZParts while I am ordering, $50ea.

Suspension questions for Aussies.
Reviving this again I have the front end out, my plan is this: Urethan bushes for: steering rack mounts steering coupler radius rods (Noltec catalogue list 2 different IDs 12.8mm and 16mm ??) OEM rubber bushes for: pivot joint between arm and crossmember **will worry about sway bars later** Also engine mount rubbers are only available from OEM I assume? ARe adjustable camber bush kits a good way to go? ( does anyone have a picture of this?) Thanks guys

Steering rack "refreshening"
While I have the front end all out in peices, is there any work I can/should to do on the steering rack? I am ordering new bushes and ball joints, and will probably wire brush the surface rust from the rack but other then that? Add grease I suppose, is there any need to clean out the old grease and how much do I use? What type? Is there any harm in coating the splined coupling to the steering shaft after wire brushing it to remove the rust? Also does anyone know what the coloured paint signifies on the steering rack? Some sort of factory marking. I have one rack with a white brush marking and another with a pink brush marking. Thanks

I beleive the engine mounts will suit all RB series motors, but I do not have an RB26 to test with.

What I did on the weekend
Thanks. Lucky I left your flares in Japan, I almost didnt make my flight after not realising how strict Japanese Airport is on luggage weight and hand carry. $100 later I got on the plane. I spent boxing day with a tube bender modifying my brake and fuel lines to clear the chassis rail extensions. Unfortunately it didnt look like it was possible but as I had nothing to lose I gave it a shot anyway and now I have brake and fuel lines that no longer fit the car.

Toyota 2000GT interest
All the cars were of interest, there are too many to post! I never knew or cared that much for pre-70's cars but some of them were really beautiful. The musuem covered 3 floors and had arguably the worlds first car which was by a german manufacturer, USA's Ford Model T, Japans Toyota AA (which I posted), and just about everything in between from Japan and around the world including some cars with the coal fuel conversion due to lack of oil in the war. There was basically the first model ever produced from most manufacturers and some manufacturers that never really made it. I am in the middle of backing up 3 months worth of photos onto my PC from my work laptop, so bare with me. I think I have the first skyline in there somewhere, and one of my favourties for some reason was also the Mitsubishi colt galant GTO. No worries, I'll email them across when I get a chance, hotmail's 250MB storage is handy. Unfortunatley I had a big day and only a 64MB memory stick so I had to reduce the camera fill size. Original photos are only 30% bigger and slightly higher resolution, but they are still OK. I bought a new camera and 256MB stick but unfortunately after the museum. Sorry, I didnt realise the difference. Its a great museum, really opened my eyes and respect for the earlier cars. Nissan would never have the resources Toyota have to aquire such rare cars from all over the world, I went to several Toyota exhibition/museums around Japan, many of which were free and simply contained exibits on recent designs, technologies and future projects along with current models on display. I arrived home yesterday after 3 months and am already contemplating which country I should spend next year in.

Should be fine, hopefully running EFI and well tuned.

Weber throttle body injection
My point is basically that it is a lot cheaper and easier to hide and tidy wiring harness and vacuum lines if appearance is your only worry. The dollars you will save will help you get your motor swap happening a lot quicker or at least a best spent on things you actually want to keep. It is sure to be a can of worms when you replace something with a non standard item, everything I have done has taken me twice as long and cost twice as much as planned. I wouldnt do anything like that unless you really want it for a good reason, and at least plan to keep it. Just my 2c, at the end of the day it doesnt worry me.

Weber throttle body injection
That photo is not a fair comparison, running injection on either will be just as messy cosmetically, its obvious the lower one has been tidied for aesthetics. something like Simons car here is a better comprison:

Japanese Q/A sticker?
I asked in my office today and the translation I got for the sticker in question was also "difficult" but the reasoning and context the Japanese here are unsure of also. Basically I have nothing new to add, just confirming Alan's post (not like it needed to be). I have been in Japan for 3 months now, and I work in the automotive industry. The guys in my team haven't seen this before so i dont know if it was an older practice. They were convinced the hole in the panel had something to do with it but I assured them it wasnt, but I couldnt tell them what panel it was to justify it. The fact that they were looking for a defect like that that means to me that it is a negative item.

Cable released hatch?
Hi, I just check out your pics and am interested to re examine my car. A couple questions: 1) Would it be possible to approach the latch mech. from behind the hatch trim panel rather than in front. 2) Is there any reason to stop from following the demister cable to the hatch for neatness? Thanks, the photos are quite helpful.

I will be back in Australia next week and will have photos by the new year. Where are you located? If in the US, there are more local suppliers.

Wireing harness tape replacement
oohh...forgot to mention, in the engine bay you will want flame retardant tape. I am not certain if that was the standard 30 years ago, but I imagine it would have been. Perhaps you will find it less sticky too.
