  1. Yeah thats what I'm thinking. Had a terrible experience with body shop and mechanic so have been double checking all their work. Someone on Facebook had a similar issue and they sorted it by adjusting the engine mounts. Trying to find out how he did that exactly since currently my center muffler doesn't sit centered properly in the center channel of the car and actually slightly touches the edge. I feel like if the whole exhaust slightly moved towards the driver side my issue might be sorted.
  2. Hey guys, just wanted to check and see if anyone has previously installed a Fujitsubo exhaust only to have it hit the rear control arm? I have the Fujitsubo Legalis R Exhaust System installed on my 1972 240z. I recently had installed after I got my car restored but I have a nasty rattle from the rear. I lifted the car to check and turns out my exhaust is hitting the control arm when vibrating. Trying to figure out how to sort it out. Considering denting my exhaust but wanted to see if anyone else ran into this issue as well.
  3. Ok, was planning on making one but then realized thezstore sell it (Seat Belt Holder) for like $8 so just ordered one. definitely cheaper than trying to make one myself.
  4. Oh yeah just realized I don't have the belt to hold up my seatbelt either. Trying to remember if I had it before the restoration process so I can dig it out but can't remember. I know my first 240z had it but didn't spend much time with my current z before I started the restoration 🤔. Gotta see if it's something I can get cuz would be very convenient.
  5. Thanks, my problem is I got a bucket full of bolts and washers and can't figure out which are for the seatbelts so was hoping to get a clearer copy of the guide since it lists the sizes of the bolts and washers.
  6. Hey guys, I just finished restoring my 240 and trying to reinstall my seatbelts but I threw my installation guide ages ago and only have the photo below which isn't very clear. Does anyone by any chance have a clearer shot of the guide? I tried getting it off Retro Belt but they weren't responsive. thanks!
  7. i'm not sure where i can find one in Kuwait, got to google i guess and see if anything pops up
  8. Around the tail lights? Where exactly?

hey, where is that located exactly?
  10. Just an update, yesterday I replaced all the weather stripping in the rear hatch door, I also sealed up the large hole in the rear hatch door and lots of exhaust fume is still getting in. No idea from where. I'm going to pass by an exhaust guy and see if i have any leaks but honestly not sure what to do if it turns out i don't have any leaks in the exhaust pipe. I don't have a plan b.

I'm using a D800 with a combination of lenses, for the outdoor shots, the open desert one I used a 14mm, the other two outdoor shots I think were with my Sigma 35mm 1.4 but I cropped into those. For all the interior shots I used the 35mm again except for the two pictures where you can see me hold the amp and pioneer, those were taken with my iPhone. The one attached to this comment was with my 80-200 2.8 lens.

So originally was planning on leaving the sound system as is, there was an old cassette player and 2 old crappy speakers in the back. I was fine just playing cassettes, still had some tapes around like the doors and such. Anyway when I purchased the car one of the rear speakers wasn't working, so i replaced them with two new cheap pioneers. a week or two later the cassette player stopped working, i figured the speakers must have done something to it. I tried to find another cassette player on ebay but couldn't find anything that matched the era or at least was affordable. So started researching hidden sound system options and found out about "out of sight audio" but it was more than i wanted to pay. So instead decided to order a pioneer bluetooth radio (MVHX560BT)which is a regular size din just around half the depth. It was compact enough to hide in my glove compartment and not mess with the interior look. Since I had been spending a lot of time in the car i decided i might as well upgrade the sound system while i'm at it. I didn't want to spend a lot, I've got my legit sound system in my FJ and wanted something affordable and decent for this car. After a bit of research i ordered front speaker panels from thezcar and went ahead and ordered the following items from amazon: - Rockford P1650 6.5-Inch 2-Way Full Range Euro Fit Compatible Speaker - Rockford Fosgate Punch P152 5-Inch Full Range Coaxial Speakers - Alpine KTP-445U 4-channel Power Pack Amplifier - DEI 050330 Boom Mat 6.5" Round Speaker Baffle - Pack of 2 - Kenwood KSC-SW11 Compact Powered Enclosed Subwoofer The install went smoothly, the kenwood subwoofer is tiny and hides behind the passenger seat, didn't even drill it into place, it can't move because of the passenger seat. the speaker panels from thezcar fit perfectly as well and the tiny amp i just zip tied under the dashboard. If anyone has any questions just let me know.

Hey, decided to post my car build in case anyone is ever googling and just so i could document it and archive it for myself. I'm going to start with my sound system install but i'll back track with other stuff maybe sometime later this week.
  15. thanks for the tip, seems like an easy fix
  16. Do you mean the leather panel stuck to the lid? It looks like it had previously been removed, not all the screws are in place either so lots of openings all around. I guess will have to remove it and seal it up.
  17. Just a quick update, the rubber seals for the rear tail lights arrived and installed them awhile ago. I'd say around 80% of the fumes is gone now which is a huge difference. There is still another 20%. I'm going to replace my exhaust and exhaust pipes plus order rubber seals for the rear hatch since water leaks in when i wash the car which means fumes could easily come in as well. Hopefully those two fixes should sort my issues out.
  18. With a help of my friend ended up drilling the rivets and they fell off easily. When i put the car back together i used the black plastic rivets which I had already ordered from thezstore.
  19. Never mind, found the diagram below, will try it out now
  20. How do I do that? Do I just drill into the rivets and that will break them free?
  21. Hey guys, so I bought new rubber seals for the rear tail light and I looked through the repair manual on how to swap them out and it seems like a simple process. So I started by removing the plastic rivets from the internal trim (the one with the speakers) and that went well, but when it came to removing the plastic rivets on the rear tail light embellisher, I noticed the previous owner had replaced the black plastic rivets with metal ones. I am guessing the previous owner replaced them because the manual says they should be plastic ones. Anyone have any ideas on how I could remove these? thanks!
  22. where is that located? Is it in the rear inside the car? Cuz I found a couple of holes, one had a grommet the other didn't, had an electrical line for the fuel pump going through it. I taped over all the holes with duck tape.
  23. I guess I'll order the rear tail light rubbers for now plus those little black rivets and get that swapped. If i still smell the fumes then i'll order the full car weatherstripping kit
  24. Yeah if you could give me the part number that would be great. my shift boot is brand new, installed it a couple of months back when I had the AC installed.
