  1. Painting starting to go down. Should be painting the body Friday or Saturday. Hopefully weather permitting start the reassembly process next week.
  2. Was all cleaned out in preparation for the spray
  3. Just about ready for color
  4. They were the best part of the car for sure but not perfect by any means.
  5. More progress, should be laying down the color next week
  6. Creeping towards the finish line! Sealer being applied today.
  7. He just made relief cuts every inch or so
  8. It will be treated for sure
  9. More progress
  10. Parts stripped completely. Will be having two set of headlight buckets painted, one set will have the head light lenses, one set will not. The car had been in a front fender bender I’m guessing because one of the buckets is FRP and the other is metal.
  11. So here we are after just one week, the car is being stripped to bare metal and the old bondo will be removed. I think his wheel chocks are clever, they allow him to have complete access and easily maneuver the car around his shop.
  12. Found a fellow who works from his home near me and is going to do my pain5 and body. Here is how I sent it to him.
  13. Yea those are chrome plastic and you can buy that at some local auto parts stores by the roll. I used that on one door but again you have to remove what you have so that you have a place to apply this strip. My other door I used the foil tape and I like it much better. Thanks for the link though.
  14. So back to the price? Detailed pictures of the mounting hardware etc?
  15. Thanks! What’s needed is one that’s slightly larger than the one on the panel and has a groove so that it could be placed over the existing strip. The existing strip is part of the vinyl door panel cover so it can’t be removed. You can sort of skim it off with a sharp knife but you don want to cut to fat, the vinyl will split then it’s junk..
  16. One step forward two steps back. I have decided that I am going to respray the entire car sans the engine compartment, airdam and a few other bits. I just cannot get a color blend that looks acceptable. Car needs it anyway.
  17. Yea I have seen them before. There is a 432 at a museum of sorts near my home so I have seen them up close. Didn’t know that about all Z’s shipped to Portugal having this option. Learn something new every day! Thought they were only on 432’s
  18. I know those cars...
  19. Did it have those wheels on it when you bought it? Those are really cool and rare!
  20. Door panels now complete, they are not in perfect shape but will do for now. The passenger panel was originally a black panel. I sprayed the panel and then used a foil tape to recover the stripe. Prior to installation I lined the doors with dyna mat and installed new vapor barrier. Water sanded and buffed the door and installed new mirrors. Now on to refinishing the hatch.
