  4. Any suggestions on a material to replace the old rotted foam seals and pads under my fenders. I’m not seeing anything with the usual parts vendors.
  5. Prepped and painted seat frame, reinstalled rubber strapping and installed new foam and seat cover.

  8. Further evidence that it doesn't have to be factory stock to bring in the cash. https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__bringatrailer.com_listing_1971-2Ddatsun-2D240z-2D51_&d=DwIFAg&c=IBOdtJkw7mis4tB3vCHqFQ&r=YmH3VJ9e1DCx9GHaRacx37TOIutCumzjaAks3ERqjrw&m=n8CV6MPCRh9JvPy08CF7GF2ZHgqbqkpISw3pIhFjkD0&s=LvWnQwSas0ZlFvzoAE-398jHUhH-C61lkvBxZB542m8&e=
  9. Getting the 72 ready for motor extraction this weekend. I don’t have plans to paint the car anytime soon but will go ahead and detail and respray under the hood, no better time than the present.
  10. Looks Great!
  11. I am running a 15x8 zero offset on my 280 with 225-50’s without issue. I am looking to purchase some Rota RB’s for my project 240 in the same size but they do not offer 0 offset. Curious to know what you guys are running (without flares) in a 15” size wheel. They do offer a +4 that I could probably get away with, if not add a small spacer. Thanks for the input. Jay

  18. Looking for suggestions to clean stains from the white Vinyl in this 71 Z that I just acquired. I'm recovering the seats with new vinyl but would like to save the door cards and the wrap on the trans tunnel. I have tried a number of household cleaners but have haven't had much luck. Thanks for any suggestions! How do you guys like the groovy white/blue seats?? Jay
  19. That is tight! But you have a garage!!
  20. I have a really high ceiling, I thought about having the door raised so that I don't have to back the car onto the ramp when I park something underneath. The problem is, I have two large hanging storage racks that I don't care to give up and would have to be removed if the garage door is raised. With that in mind my solution is to put a stop pin on the lift mechanism so that the car wont go high enough to hit the door. I really just need it to go high enough to get the other car underneath + about 10" extra which is what I have. I may change my mind later but for now, I will run with it this way. I have room in my garage for the cars to be side to side but then I have to pull one out to have room to work. This configuration give me work space and no more rolling around on my back for things like clutch swaps etc! I get a lot of questions about the lift so here are some answers to FAQ's... Brand: Titan XLT, there is a shorter lower version this is the big one Cost: About $2200 Mounting info: Does not have to be lagged into the concrete it is free standing and comes with casters so it can be moved. Options: Comes with (3) Drip trays (1) Jack Tray. The Jack Tray allows you to lift the car off its wheels with a bottle jack. Extra trays are $140. Titan also sells rolling jacks that fit in between the runways, these are super handy but are about $700 each. . There are many brands that are similar to Titan with the same options. I purchased this brand because I have a customer who is the master dealer and buys products from my company and I wanted to reciprocate.
  21. Installed 4 post lift to get garage ready for my next Z project
  22. Dave, you will need to select the 73 but you will need to shave about 1 to 1.5 mm off to get them to fit.
  23. Pretty self explanatory but make sure you select the “Old Style” with the larger bore
  24. For those of you looking for Watanabe center caps to fit Rota Wheels and with some help from the Dremel the Koenig wheels, here is a link to a source in Japan that sells them. Unfortunately they only come in Silver but I just painted mine to match my black Koenigs. Very reasonably priced and quick ship. https://www.nengun.com/rs-watanabe/centre-caps
  25. Awesome job chronicaling your build. I am hopefully about to start a similiar project except the car is Blue. I really wanted Safari Gold but just couldn’t find the right one. I have done one other car much in the way you did this one, a 77 280z. Looking forward to starting the 240. Great job!
