Do you want the whole strut or just the insert? ive got some new tokico strut inserts for 260z.. I think they are rears(i'll check the number on the tokico web site)- but they may also fit the front. What are they worth? I think the cage and the harness are sold..but if that falls though i'll let you know.

Hi all, my 240z came with a xr3000 ignition setup all ready. I'am curious what the black, red, green and white little wires coming out of the unit are for(on seperate loom)? they arnt the pickup wires or the signal/power.... What are they??? two of them are bridged... I've looked at the xr3000 manual on the crane website, and it didnt mention them at all. any ideas?

  8. I'am just after a few small bits..... The top 2 L pieces of chrome from the rear window- the bits on the top on each side. A new rear window seal.(unfinished projects?) The original rear hatch badges for a 72 240z.(i think its "datsun" and "240z" in script BUT i could be wrong.) The drivers side rear trim bit that goes around the fixed side window(interior)--in black. The original drivers seat belt- in good nick. A perfect center console- the one without the choke knob(or even a perfect dash- but i think thats a dream.) or even some recoed door trims.... one of the pull off plastic knobs off the heater slide switches. Front and rear strut braces--new or old style. a good carby fuel pump that isnt noisey(ive good a near new "holley red pump" but its SO noisey). If anyones got these please PM me or email datfreak@dodo.net.au !cheers!
  9. I'm looking at new carpet for my 240z. And ive seen carpet kits advertised in car magazines (here in australia)and heard good and bad stories about them(mainly about their poor fit), even considering geting a auto trimmer to make it up. Has anyone bought one, if so what brand and was it any good? Also looking at replacing my hood liner, I've done a search here but would like some more details on how to do it. mine is a mess! thanks scott

After having owned a few 260z's and hearing how great 240z are Ive taken the plunge and got me a 240. Its in pretty nice condition- Ive posted a couple of pics(still need to be appoved) and will put post more in the following weeks. Its not exactly stock with upgraded suspension, koni's, hard springs, kmac swaybars, adj camber. and the motor is still the original 2.4 but has a big cam and tripple 45mm webbers . I've only taken it for a couple of short drives but it feels like a million bucks, I cant wait to get it on the road!! Its an ex race car(runs leyburn/gatton/pittsworth) and ive had to change a few bits to get it road worthy again. So ive got a few left over parts if any one wants them- like 4 pt racing harness with mounting plate that bolts on to the rear strut tower. Half roll cage- looks neat but not CAMS appoved. original 240z 5 speed gearbox and balanced tailshaft. Big rear wing--see pics just thought I'd share my JOY!!

I totally agree with what Walking pig has to say... The tomatoes are really really really crap lately I find all this really sad, because it shows the times. I've heard lots a stories from old timers about "maxing out" their falcon gtho's at 160mph-racing against 6 pack chargers or racing their 240z(with tripple webbers in early 70's) thru mountain roads - keeping at 10 tenths for hours on end.(and dat 1600's) ALL THIS ON PUBLIC ROADS And those days are gone.. Now in qld if you get caught doing 45kph over you LOSE your licence for a min 6 months- and unlike drink driving you cant even get a work licence. I'am not saying that the above things are sensible but its something that us younger petrol heads WONT ever be able to do - the phase "lets take her out and see what she'll do" is over. The cops dont even have to bust you - they sit in their van/4wd on the side of the road and let a camera do that(what a job hey). Anyone watched cannonball run recently???

mmmmmmm spaghetti........ Just reliving a old post.. If someone bought webers/dellortos could he/she get the jet/tube etc sizes off someone else who has already got their set dyno tuned??? If the motors where similar- ie similar cam /head etc??? any thoughts?? Dyno tuning can be very expensive, and if everyone posted their tunes on here, perhaps we could make a database on the different states of engine tune VS weber/dellorto tune...
