I'am hoping to either get my 260z repainted (bare metal) and put my l28-rebuilt with flat top pistons, bigger cam, 2" jag su's or webbers ported head- and redo the interior- put in my tokico shocks with lowered spring etc etc etc or selling it as is and buying a 240z for big bucks that has already had a repaint and is pretty original..(Anyone got one??-email me!) So what does everyone have planned for this year with their z cars?

hey...I never said the 2+2 was better then the 240z.. But said it is a performance car on its own rite .. And at $3k-$10 au,they are a very nice car when original and "done up" tastfully, esp vs cars of the 70's--and beyond- (and alot better then the local Falcons and commodores). And as a nice fun - and good looking - car they are very underrated.. and i'am sure there are some people out there with VERY expensive paint jobs on their 2+2's, who worry about when they park their 260z's as well...

I dunno if the 260z 2+2 will be rarer(more expensive) then the 240z ever, but the 2+2 is underrated for sure! The 2+2 is a perforance car in its own rite, that can beat the crap of other "performance " cars of the same age- People i know who arnt Z car nuts(but are car nuts) cant tell the difference between the two("its the same model but different year?") They both feel similar to drive(240z vs 260z 2+2)-and hell. its still a first gen Z, which makes it special to drive no matter what(Z car nuts know what i'am talking about) --NO MORE 260z 2+2 "stationwagon" comments!

I bought this one before my current project... 3/4 stripped of paint and coated in fish oil/ glass out but all there. extractors and exhaust(2") off car but in very good nick.. was bought new and was only on the car for a couple of months. its a auto BUT i have manual pedal box, master/slave cylinder and flywheel It has some rust ie the sills in front of the wheels..a few holes in passanger side floor..Very comparible to lots of $2000-$2500 2+2s but you can see the rust because paint/bog has been removed no motor(motor that came with the car was majorly seized) Just email me for pics/info... im in toowoomba QLD (land of OZ) SOLD!! thanks for all the interest!
  7. I thought i'd revive this old post.. So... the E30 head came out on the early skylines/240ks and also on the 2l jap motors.. the early ones (240k/skyline/ 2.4l) where setup for a single carby and the 2l jap motor was setup up for fuel injection and has its inlet ports drilled for it. Did they both have the same size valves?(the injection head and non-injection)..did they both have the same size combustion chambers? Does anyone know wot size they are, for compression calcs? My 260z has a e30 head on it with injection holes drilled into the ports and was wanting to know if it was a good head.. and what compression ratio ive got(i havnt done compression test yet) thanks
  8. mine mite be sitting a bit higher cos both cars have the spare wheel out/back seat/ most of the interior out and very very little fuel.. it is the measurement from the middle of the hub(in the middle between the nuts) ( ) to the inside edge of the guard above it..(in the rear) wot do you mean by non-trapping???????
  9. Ok..on my two zeds, both of which are 260z 2+2's and both have their front guards off :cross-eye :cross-eye So the REAR measurements are 420mm on no1 and 410mm for no2.. At 350mm it would look SO awesome!! BUT maybe the guards sit higher on the 2+2???
  10. actually.. front and rear measurements would be great.
  11. try measuring from the middle of the wheel(middle of the hub) to the edge of the guard(measuring straight up).. this way it doesnt matter wot size of tyre you have and show how much lower the car is. I'll go and measure mine(standard springs) when i put my guards back on.
  12. If its around 180lbs for the kings springs, what are the standard spings pressure? Is it much harder with the kings springs then standard?
  13. I know its more of a suspension topic but kings spring is auzzie based,so I thought Id ask here. Anyone used them on their zed? They come in low and super low but how does that sit on a car thats 28 years old and its springs have already sagged?? I used their low springs on my 200b SSS(a long time ago) and the car sat HIGHER after installing them ..due to the standard springs sagging. also curious on their sping rates..how hard are they? Anyone tried other oz brands..ie whiteline? thanks for any info
  14. Anyone used jag 2" su's on their l28?? I need to know what needles/seats to use... any ideas??? Any info/input would be great
  15. I've rang a few bearing shops but NOONE has got them or even can get them... I'am in oz?
  16. will 240z struts/and or springs go into a 260z 2+2? or even just the inserts? any info would be great!! thanks guys
  17. I've got my 260z on stands and have undone most of the bolts... How do my new poly front control arm bushes go in..?? Is there any benifit to put them in back to front..ie to increase caster/camber etc?????? It looks lkike the "thicker" side goes to the back...but again, is it worthwhile puitting them in backwards??? any ideas ???
  18. Anyone found cheap weatherseals for our zeds?? I'll chasing front and rear(260z 2+2) windscreeen seals. I was told that you can buy it by the metre-- and you can still put the original chrome bits in. Also anyone know where to buy "cheap" front repo guards?-I think they are made in korea.. thanks(in oz)

Looking at whitelines website, the 1600 project has a adjustable caster by: the caster/radis rod is threaded with nuts on either side of the chassis mount, making the rod shorter or longer, increasing caster.. I contacted whiteline and they dont do adjustable radis rods for 260z's.. Anyone know of anyone who does?(esp in australia) Or anyother way to do it? ta
