I hear you but this this can be very bad... you basically drown in your own fluids. It has only been observed for ~ 3 months and they are starting to find troubling things: 1. Virus passes before you show symptoms. 2. Virus can float in air and be passed 3 hours after a sick person has left the room. 3. The virus can be detected in your body for 7 weeks. 4. You can catch it again. 5. It is especially harmful to elderly and people wit underlying illnesses or weakened immune system. 6. Many who recover have permanent lung damage. Thank you communist mainland China!!!!

Some TP does not break down like it should in water, that usually is the problem around here. Costco had one brand that was clogging all the septic systems around here.

Ignition Timing Mechanical Advance
There was a dyno run posted on zcar.com that had Ve. It was ~ 15 years ago however I can not find it yet. That is the only one I know of for an L engine. I recall Ve being low at lower rpms, then peaking, then falling off at higher rpms.

Early vs. Late Series I 240Z's
I agree, it may have been replaced. Here are some photos: @Dr. 240Z is the owner. He bought it in 1971!

cube or square law of volumes? Cube Root does not grow much: Perhaps the advance change is only for idle emissions and transition only?

Travel bans are needed unfortunately.... a month and a half too late but we have to deal with Mainland China's gift to the world. The whore has given the Johns the dose it seems. A land of gangsters oppressing its people to slavery yet the world signed up to this immoral trade to save costs.... now the shoe drops....currently the supply chain has stopped and critical materials and products are held by Mainland China.... such as a key ingredient for drugs and even a key ingredient for the Wuhan-Virus test kits. The pain of the junky when the pusher runs out is nothing compared to what will soon happen. Mainland China just ****ed the whole planet. Good thing they did not have enough time to mix the Ebola virus into the batch (which they secretly stole from a Canadian Level 4 Lab less than a year ago and brought to their Wuhan Lab.....for helping Africa??? or a Bio-Weapon??? One guess). https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/ebola-henipah-china-1.5232674

Ignition Timing Mechanical Advance
Chamber size, compression, location of plug and chemistry of the gas affect the maximum advance setting. Higher compression/smaller chamber engines need less than lower compression/larger chambers.

Ignition Timing Mechanical Advance
The vacuum advance comes in at high rpm at low VE when cruising. The advance IS related to the quantity of air and fuel in the chamber.
-
Ignition Timing Mechanical Advance
Volumetric Efficiency must come into play.... that is the amount of air (and fuel) filling the chamber. As the throttle opens wider, more air and fuel enter the chamber. Somehow this must be part of the reason why advance is limited at higher RPM WOT.

The grease used was general purpose wheel bearing grease from Canadian Tire. Lucas Red "n" Tacky or Wurth SIG 3000 are good to have in your garage. Just make sure all moving parts are sliding smoothly, especially the vac advance parts. Also ensure the two springs are in good shape. Some rust and fail.

I've refreshed many with success. If you have a few for parts to choose from then you are in a good place to take the best from all to make one good unit. As you have already disassembled some, you are 1/2 way there.

Any tips on getting the quarterlight seals to relax?
Nope, Nope, Nope, and Nope The trick it to buy longer screws or bolts and bring the window in a little at a time until you can replace each long screw one-at-a time with a shorter screw. E-Z P-Z
