  1. It is a Grose Jet flood! I just pulled a pair of Grose Jets from a set of carbs yesterday. I can send for paypal postage.

  3. Hank visited once. Come on out for a visit in the quiet season. You can stay with us.
  4. At the Z barn: Helped my buddy get a 73 going that sat for 5 years. Runs great now. Clogged fuel bowls, fuel needle valve blocked, missing internal carb spring, weak return springs, fuel pump failed, timing was at 10ATDC and vacuum leaks Picked up a fuel pump that matches the type in the very early FSM's Enjoyed a great view at the barn on the mountain and time with great friends... even saw a 1969 LA police car #12 stored there.
  5. I've used a die grinder with stones on an exhaust flange fillet weld to clean it up.
  6. Six Domestic Z's made in Aug 1969. Only 1 Export....possibly HLS30-00003 which may be this one used in the Factory Service Manual and other technical publications. A teaser commercial was made in the Summer of 1969 in Japan to promote the Z. Here is the masked Z on the Oppama test track: WaterTesting12Mb.mp4

    They are all even but very lean. The easy way to enrich is to put a resistor in series with the temp sensor. http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/tempsensorpot/index.html °C °F Resistance -30 -22 20,300 Ω to 33, 000 Ω -10 -14 7,600 Ω to 10,800 Ω +10 50 3,250 Ω to 4,150 Ω +20 68 2,250 Ω to 2,750 Ω +50 122 740 Ω to 940 Ω +80 176 290 Ω to 360Ω

Talk to Hank. I recommend "Hemmings". Prestigious, lots of photos, and a long selling period. https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/?makeFacet=Datsun&modelFacet=280Z&adtypeFacet=carsforsale&year_min=&year_max= BAT seems popular but not sure if cars in Canada sell easy. For best time, with 50th anniversary of the Z coming up, the whole year will be hot.
  20. L I K E !!! (I ran out today)
  21. for the carb people
  22. I've seen numbers on the block and on pistons. I think it was how they selected best fits in plant. The std was probably a repair piston.
  23. get some electrical contact cleaner and spray every connector's pins (both sides) then make and break each connection 5 times and wiggle the connector while doing it.
