1972 Float Adjustment ...
Mark I don't think it is too far off the mark (pun). In his suggestion: The exposed annular fuel ring will be 1mm higher so it will be slightly richer due to less energy needed to lift the fuel, but the narrower taper of the needle 1mm higher will either have no effect or slightly contribute a mild leaning as the exposed annular ring will be narrowed. 2.5 turns down is simply a recommended starting point for a factory fresh stock 240z at sea level at 20C. There are also recommendations for changes to this height for altitude and temperature. From experience, there are additional changes in fuel height and in needle type to accommodate engine volume changes, compression changes, cam changes, etc. Just adjust until plugs look good and driving under all loads (idle, city cruise, highway cruise, acceleration) is adequate. In addition to changing needles, you can put weights and stronger springs in the carb bodies to make the pistons rise less for the same engine vacuum. This can help tune towards WOT from cruise.

Integrated Oil Pressure Switch and Sender?
Thanks guys! I'll hook it up and see what happens. The documentation accompanying said that it was just a switch that activated on very low oil pressure or very high oil pressure. No mention of pressure-to-resistance feature for driving the oil gauge.

Integrated Oil Pressure Switch and Sender?
My 78 280z rock auto special is a boat anchor... only two prongs and it simply switches on high pressure and low pressure. It is not what Nissan made (sensor output and switch on low pressure)... beware... rock auto lies.

Bought a new windshield for Blue, $200 CAD.- We're bringin' back the Flat Tops!
You can coat the insulation with shaving cream to reduce the asbestos dust or soak it with lots of water. Be careful. A friend just died from breathing it when he worked dismantling a Royal Navy ship as a summer job.- A week in Japan
History Garage is easy to get to in Tokyo. Here is current exhibition highlights. There are lots of other cars too... and if you walk through the corridor, you will find some rare books on the Z. http://www.megaweb.gr.jp/article/1960s_japan/- Stalling issue(under throttle)

Ebay has kits too: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=solex+44phh+rebuild&_sacat=0- Another great source for lash pads.

The original fan should be fine to run with. Either way it is fine. FYI Kats posted this photo which may be from 68 or 69 test car or dyno. It looks like an early plastic fan from another application such as 510 or from a Cedric (with L24) that would predate the production metal fan application: @kats @HS30-H may be able so share more. Here is a Cedric engine with a similar fan: and an L20A with similar fan:- Another great source for lash pads.
Looks like to make a lash pad you turn a rod in a lathe, part it off the end, grind the bottom then grind out the top side passage.- Restoration of "One-eighty-seven"

Wow a real Hitachi.... most are non Hitachi these days. Can he get any more? I'll buy 2.- Restoration of "One-eighty-seven"
looks great!- Stalling issue(under throttle)
Front carb is leaner than rear carb from the plugs. Rear carbs look better. You can lower the front jet 1/4 turn to balance the fuel better. - [2018] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?
