Strange for 4 plugs to work and two not to work. Never saw that except for a cracked insulator.

You could have fake sh!t from mainland China. They are experts at making fake junk. Nothing is beyond their greed and ignorance of ethics and safety. Someone on Garage Journal got burned: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=270816&showall=1 Have a look at what NGK has had to post because of fake Chinese NGK plugs http://www.ngk-sparkplugs.jp/english/techinfo/fake/

That does not make sense. finer points spark at lower voltages? Maybe you have two bad plugs?
  8. I think I got it figured out:

Maybe electronics are set for 4 cylinder rather than 6?

Always nice to get hands dirty!
  14. This early LHD Z has the weirdest mirrors: 3
  15. Nice car! You may consider driving it back. The cars are reliable. Budget a day to change fluids and check a few things before departing. Just line up enough Z friends on this form along your route as emergency pit-stops.

Beautiful pup. I'm sorry for your loss.
  17. Think of the circuit being like a charged storm cloud: The wire and the injectors stay at +12V DC, as they are always connected to the +12V feed when the FI system is powered. The injectors typically stay at +12V nearly all the time. When the engine rotates, the distributor sends a signal to the ECU (as well as sparking the plugs). The ECU uses this impulse determine when to fire the injectors and for how long. The ECU fires the injector by shorting the +12V charged injector line through a transistor to ground. This causes a large current to flow through the injector. (It is like a storm cloud suddenly having a path to ground and discharging). The duration of the current flow is proportional to how long the injector stays open. (The injector is simply a solenoid). There are 6 "current limiting resistors" upstream from the injectors that prevent too much current from burning up the injectors. If I recall correctly the ECU fires all injectors at the same time and twice per 4 crank strokes.

Your car will have a new car smell!
  19. Hi esmit208, I bought some rims for my wife's Ridgeline in Melbourne a year ago. I usually work in Florida every year or two and would be delighted to help you tune the next time I am there. I'll give you fair warning.

  21. More of those square-ish wing mirrors in RHD Australia:
  22. Interesting: Some of the LHD test cars had wing mirrors... but the conical shaped type.
  23. Glad you like the info Chris! Yes the top two colour photos are from the car show in Brussels. It was held in Jan 1970 so that LHD is one of the early birds from 1969. The B&W photo is the same car appearing in the Oct 1970 car show in London. It seems Nissan tried to ship two cars to the London show but they got caught up in red tape so Nissan brought the white one over from Belgium as a fill-in. An F1/Race car designer (Robin Herd) is reported to have purchased the car at the London show and its existence is known. I will guess that the white 240z did car show duties in continental Europe from Jan to Oct. so it seems to be an interesting car like HLS30-00006 to 8...... more research is needed to track its path in 70. Current photos and details of the mirrors will be nice to explore too. I will guess that Alan knows where this car is and probably has seen it.
  24. Looks like more info in this Car Magazine Nov 1970... not on Ebay presently
