$20 CAD I'll buy yours for $30 ? Nice used ones ~ $100USD so triple that for NOS premium.
  2. Are you talking under the car or in the cabin?

It would be neat to modernize that light and do the following: Bright LED Lithium Battery for wireless mobility Secured to fender with magnet that allows light to stick to objects when in use 12V charging lead is to the base and the light disconnects from charging when removed

You like PeeWee's Big Adventure too? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IU8V1_9Vs6w
  6. I'm with Steve and actually am working on a 1973 with the same stray automatic wires next to the manual transmission.

Back in the 70's Elvis had it custom-relocated as it chafed his leg. Come on Alan.... so blatantly baiting ? You are far more clever than that!!!!! Still I am curious with your interesting facts!
  8. Great improvement!
  9. Obviously Klingon technology
  10. Another photo of that same loading:
  11. " Klassic Fab has been manufacturing quality VW Bus floor replacements for years " I would expect their web site to be mature and functional based on their VW history... very odd. FYI Parent site: https://www.klassicfab.com/
  12. It could be resistance in the contacts from the temp gauge sensor (usually yellow wire) to the gauge. Check for corrosion at the thermostat housing connections. Temp gauge sensor is normal a single bullet connector.

I recognize that bench and tool box. ? Nice bling!
  14. I think you may be on to something. I can think of two possible causes: 1. Resistance in circuit changes current pulse shape (RC rise/fall time increases) 2. Higher current without the resistor saturates the detector circuit and it does not work. I tried more loops in the past with no luck.
  15. Removing ballast gives higher energy spark. It is really only needed for high engine-compression applications. A 280z tach works fine with this upgrade. Keeping the ballast allows older 240z tach to work which saves having to swap it AND allows the 240z owner to get rid of the points distributor. They just forego the high energy spark.
  16. Good news. Just got ZX distributor to work with 240z tach. Ballast was needed.

Jim, Yup, that is the desired early shield. You can see it in the engine FSM printed in 1969 so probably spring/summer of 69 you see this:
  18. Are you related to @kats Brilliant Data! Thanks for posting!!!!
  19. It is nice that you know the car! Do you have any photos of it now?
  20. Feb 2018 fakes:
  21. The edge fingers at the hole are not like any of the original pictures I have but they do closely match the early poor-quality fakes from 2 years ago but they better match Terrapin originals. I think they are real or a very good reproduction. The IKI stamp and Made in Japan require further exploration. I'll check mine in the garage and get back. Circa 1970 version 1 Circa 1970 version 2 2020 2018 fake
