My fav hair gel from the 80s?
  3. A lot of common aspects of design back then. The A550X wheel well shape with more opening in back is similar to the Z.
  4. 4 pic's from @Carl Beck's website showing bell housing on lathe for 240sx transmission mod.

Hard to do a leak down test at BDC except when the cam is out. Perhaps fill chamber with oil or diesel and use a dipstick through plug hole to measure drop over a day.
  6. Perhaps the design was somewhat common like a steering wheel or door handle.
  7. Similar application of rubber, however there are pre-1968 Z designs with similar bumper and rubber over rider design. Convergence rather than copying I think.
  8. I found the opposite over 10 years ago.... I guess something changed ? The ZX hole has degree of freedom to move upward. Perhaps this movement is the key?
  9. I wonder where it was made ?

  18. I'm not blaming anyone. Perhaps as you suggested above, Morton may not have braked sufficiently or he had cold brakes... however, going into that area, Morton's line followed the Mustang and the yellow car followed the Daytona. In your last picture above, the yellow car is not behind the Daytona but between Morton and the Mustang. It changed lines...but the Daytona and white car did not.
  19. That's a lot of energy over a typo. The teams have radios and accident locations are nearly always are broadcast immediately. The two cars in front held their line, most likely because they knew or anticipated 2 abreast going into that area (gathered from the 2 abreast since the start of the race).... and/or they checked their mirrors. The yellow car changed lines going in to a turn braking.... that is not best practice. Especially when seated on the right w/o a blind spot.

Shoji Kato is annoyed: He's the factory representative in Canada of Japan's Datsun car and he's annoyed with dealers across Ontario because they underestimated the market. Datsun is the biggest-selling overseas car in Canada and the other Japanese cars are not far behind. 1971
  21. Jim,you are becoming the resident brain surgeon.
