  1. David before you do anything else go back and double check the wiring you touched when changing the coil and condenser. Check all the wiring on the ballast also. Ps always helps if you tell us what you are working on. 72 body and block, everything else 71, Tokico springs, Illumina, R180 CLSD, 83 close ratio, 3.90 gears, Ztherapy SUs, BRE 15X7 Libre wheels and BRE front spoiler.

I was involved in two of these installation on early240z,s. In both cased we removed all of the original heater pieces and worked hard to adapt the vintage air to the original vents. It required custom mount fabricating. Custom compressor mounts and hoses. We never came up with a solution to the the control panel that I liked. Hopefully someone here had better experience. The labor cost alone was over $2500. 72 body and block, everything else 71, Tokico springs, Illumina, R180 CLSD, 83 close ratio, 3.90 gears, Ztherapy SUs, BRE 15X7 Libre wheels and BRE front spoiler.
  4. Carl thanks for confirming my understanding. The biggest lessen I have learned is to be sure you over insure the stated value because it will crepe up on you. 6. Last year they sent me an email suggesting I should consider raising it from $25K which I did. They didn’t question it. I really don’t have an issue with Hagerty just thought I should ask around. I like that I am covered on all club events and other limited use. Only time I have needed coverage was 2012 and found out I was undervalued. The other drivers insurance paid nearly twice what I had the value at. Good lesson. Big picture $415 is nothing. 72 body and block, everything else 71, Tokico springs, Illumina, R180 CLSD, 83 close ratio, 3.90 gears, Ztherapy SUs, BRE 15X7 Libre wheels and BRE front spoiler.

  23. I sort of disagree with others. I think that the original dash does have an affect on the potential sales price it is sort of like numbers matching engines. People with money paying high prices like the idea of saying “original”. Also I don’t feel like removing a dash is is the hard part of covering a dash. Removing all of the internals and replacing them is the time consuming part. I have done this to five early cars. We sent cracked dashes out to have the new covers done. $2000 and They came back looking new. If you are thinking about doing that why not cover it with the same leather you are having on the seats? Or purchase cracked dash and save your as is? Years could go by before your cracks. I personally have a 71 original dash in my car that cautiously care for. if it cracks later I will then do something with it. If you decide to go with the leather diamond patterns then save the vinyl pieces for the future. Just my two cents for thought. PS PM.
