  1. Is a Z with original paint in flawless condition worth more that a high quality re-spray?
  2. Thanks, I will reach out to the dealer. Hope I can talk to the original owner. We’ll see....
  3. What do you boys think this car is realistically worth? I am considering making an offer. Been looking for a couple of years and nice ones are hard to find, although I only use BAT and Autotrader classics as my search options. Also not sure as to which Z is the best option for long term ownership. A nut and bolt restoration or an original unrestored Z such as the one referenced in this post. I owned a 1970 Z back in 75 and still have fond memories of that car.
  4. Checked out the Fairlady 432. Is this a fair price? Do you think it would be good investment? This is a car I would drive but treat like an investment much like I do with my Lexus LFA. I just happen to be one of the minority that understand and appreciate Japenese craftsmanship and dedication to producing an exceptional product. As I am sure you all have noticed what has happened with the Toyota 2000 GT which I considerd buying when it was at 200,000 ....oops missed that boat. On a side note is it possible to drive a right side driver seat in the U.S.? This is one car, that based on what was wriiten in the ad, was never built in left hand drive.
  5. I think I can see who the judges would be at a Z concours..... You boys certainly know your $^!#. So at this point I will be looking for a car similar in overall condition as this Z with a complete frame off restoration for a more reasonable 35 to 40K Does this sound feasible?
  6. Great points! Thanks for all the input. I spoke to Les Cannaday today and was extremely impressed with the level of detail that went into this restoration. Literally every single part was disassembled and either rebuilt or refinished including the engine internals. The original car was essentially rust free so apparently not too much cut and weld was required. He is sending me pictures of various stages of the 3 year restoration project. According to Les it would cost more than this to duplicate this level of restoration, provided you were able to locate a solid car to begin with. I will post the pics when I receive them and look forward to further scrutiny.
  7. 240260280, Thanks for the input, Which specific ones look incorrect?
  8. That is the one I was enquiring about. After I re-read their ad I realized that they were not representing it as a Vintage Z. Not sure if this car is better, worse or equal to the original 37 Vintage Z's Based on what little I know about his restoration work he seems to be extremely proficient at his craft, a least according to his web site
  9. Hi all, New member here. I used to own a 1970 yellow 240Z back in 1976, also had a 300ZX twin turbo in 1992. I am interested in getting another 240Z and wanted to get opinions on purchasing one of the factory restored 240's that were done back in 1996. They originally sold for around 27K directly from Nissan as essentially brand new cars. From what I have read only about 40 cars were actually completed before Nissan abandoned the project. I am looking at a 1971 which they are asking 70K for, which looks to be as new. Do you think this is this a fair price? Your experience and expertise will be very much appreciated.
