  1. thanks JSM - just posted to a couple FB groups first. Wanna try to keep it in the Z family. I need to get a log in with zcar but damn that site is tough! hardly works and shuts down my internet when i try to use it
  2. Is anyone open to the idea of trading their 82-83 280ZX Turbo for a '78 280Z? I'm looking for a mostly stock turbo car to maintain, drive on the weekends, keep up with and tinker with. My current Z is more designed to modify for track or engine swap or build to your liking. Rust free example from Southern Cali / Arizona. Located in Fort Worth, TX and willing to drive within 5 hours.
  3. Must admit, one tank of Shell V Power Nitro+ in my 280Z and I'm hooked on this stuff. Ton's of good reviews out there. It's essentially 99% composed of what Shell uses in F1 cars. Helps clean carbon deposits (up to 60% one first tank alone), clean injectors, prevent corrosion and wear. Just filled up second tank and hope to do a few more. Also, noticed some significant fuel savings. 4-5 mpg improvement.

  5. A few days old - but ole Tealie got a much needed bath Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  6. Sweet retro RECARO seat!! It's on my bucket list for my Z - old seats from the 70's (I also work for RECARO) Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  7. New brake booster and master cylinder = no more mushy brakes! New engine mounts and tranny mounts = no more car shaking like an earthquake at idle or shifter vibrating during acceleration New rear main seal = no more leaks Oil changed and radiator flushed and new coolant = happy cool engine for the Texas summer New timing crank, alternator belt and distributor set = better ignition and happier engine Vacuum lines replaced = better idle and acceleration Lots of progress this week! 8. Replaced the bungee cord battery tie down the previous owner was using with the MSA full kit (price was reduced recently) - snug as a bug in a rug Also replaced the 180 degree thermostat with 160 degrees Next up: Bleed brakes and try to find leak - hopefully don't need a new booster and MC Alignment and replace rack and pinion boots (parts on hand) fluid flush - oil, transmission, coolant Replace engine and transmission mounts (parts on hand) Replace oil drain plug and main seal gasket (parts on hand) And if I'm lucky, find out if my AC compressor works (currently not installed) Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  9. Finally was able to install a new shift knob. When I bought it the kid had this cheap plastic thing from autozone.. affected shifts, slowed you down, wasn't weighted. Ordered one from MSA and it was no longer in production... then ordered this billet aluminum one and it wasn't in stock. Patiently waited and glad I did! What a world of difference a good shift knob makes with finding gears. Couple that with the new bushings and adjustments I made to the lever, and my transmission is feeling up to par now Meeting an old roommate and some old friends for dinner at the Woodshed in FW. Cheers, y'all Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

  11. Great looking car - but good on you for not letting emotions take over and sticking to your gut Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  12. Where did you get your brake booster? Mine needs replacing Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  13. Did you end up getting the Z? Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  14. These cars and their engineering continue to amaze me. Keep in mind my L28 is bone stock less an aluminum radiator+electric fans, K&N cone filter, headers and exhaust. Yesterday I really put her through the paces for a good 2 hours.. add on top of that 2 more hours of driving to and from.. the last 40 minutes coming home she was really tired.. starting to hesitate, stumble. I thought the timing might be off Today I fired her up to take her to the driving range and see how she felt today and drove like a champ. Just needed a night's rest Had a big grin the whole time Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
