  1. The S30 Z transmission shifter does not have any type of interlocking mechanism. Press the button with your thumb, and move the lever to neutral. As for the ignition key, yes there is a steering column lock, and without a key you cannot turn the steering wheel. But like the others have mentioned, get the key code from the glovebox decal, and have a key made. You could also have a locksmith come to where the car is, and he could make a key for you.
  2. If they keep this up, I have several S30’s in similar condition that may have to go up for sale.
  3. I placed an order a month ago. Tracking showed it at the originating post office the second day. The package is still showing at that location, with an ETA of November 12. I contacted the seller over a week ago, who started an investigation with USPS, which said they would have an answer in 24 hours. Oh, and they are blaming Covid.
  4. I saw on the news that the Northeast is in for a major snowstorm.
  5. I have used 280Z fenders, doors, hatch and hood on my 71 240Z race car. All parts interchange seamlessly. The 280Z doors have a different window channel but it will work on a 240Z. The doors also have a side impact beam, that doesn’t impact use on the earlier Z, but I cut them out to save weight.
  6. Mabel, Mabel, get off the table. The quarter is for the beer!
  7. Sounds like you don't have any spark. 😉 Seriously, check the ballast resistor with a ohmmeter. They burn out eventually, and then the condition you describe happens. The car rides up, then after starting, it dies. The ballast resistor is bypassed for starting, then after the cranking is done power is directed through the resistor to reduce the voltage going to the coil.
  8. Carling Black Label. I bring a couple cases back every time I go to Canada.
  9. I've been making those for years, using Clamato or the spicy V8, and Negra Modelo. Add pickled asparagus, pickled string beans, celery, worchesterchire sauce, tabasco, lime juice, and ground pepper. A breakfast beer with veggies, almost a balanced meal! You should know what clam juice is, you live in one of the best places on the planet for seafood. Go to Taylor's on Chukanut Drive and get some clams!
  10. The only way to know for sure would be to inspect the car in person. Look for the VIN stamp on the firewall, compare to the other ID plates, actually measure the rear strut tower height, etc. I'm too far away to do it, and even if I could, I doubt I could tolerate seeing this Z abortion in person.
  11. Pretty much, except I think it is a 280 with a 240 title.
  12. Congratulations Ryan, especially for the arrival of a healthy child. Awesome!
  13. Awesome looking car. But why does it have the flat top carbs? Those weren’t used on the 240, were they? Even if they were, why would anyone use them today?
  14. Interesting how the news editor misses spelling errors. Don’t they proofread their news copy? How does one close their moth, anyway?
  15. This rusty 240/280 looks like someone had a rusted or otherwise unusable 240, with a clean title, and an otherwise decent 280, with no title, and used the 240 ID plates and title to make a “legitimate” car. Then rust happened to the newer car.
  16. Is he the owner of a 510 with moss growing on it?
  17. What about people who aren’t on Faceplant and don’t wish to be on it? I’m not signing up with Faceplant just to get my 14 Z cars on a registry.
  18. But the cylinder head and front cover are aluminum. *edit* I see now the engine is disassembled, so never mind. Guess I should have read the whole thread before posting, eh?
  19. I'm more concerned about Lewis Hamilton.
  20. The dash, interior trim and upholstery look to have fallen victim to a large rodent. The rest has a bad case of metal worm.
