  1. Looks like the chassis is still quite serviceable. A shame to see it parted out.
  2. I saw that. Odd how there always seems to be someone wanting to place a bid that correlates to the model, e.g. 240, 260, 280. Looks like Captain Chet was a bit over exuberant, eh?
  3. I’m kind of partial to the metallic brown myself.
  4. Big tree. I’ve always been amazed at how shallow the roots are, and how well the trees manage to remain upright. At least it didn’t fall on the house. Is that blue home yours?
  5. Still no power at my place. Took Mrs. Racer to the doctor so I’m connecting via the free wi-fi at the doctors office.
  6. Can’t say that I’ve ever seen something like that on a Z.
  7. I have one of those. Couldn’t justify the extra cost of the pneumatic version my head builder has.
  8. I was going to give you a like Mike, but it says I’ve exceeded the daily limit. Why is there a daily limit? Don’t you like for us to be generous with the likes?
  9. Headed out to a small town about 15 miles from our place to get a signal, and watch the championship finale from Phoenix today, as the trees are still laying on the power and phone lines, and without power and phone, no tv or innernets. Sitting in the parking lot of a local tire shop, watching the race on my iPad. The road is still impassable, requiring use of the top secret back entrance to the Batcave.
  10. There was a vigorous wind storm Friday and our power was knocked out by falling trees. Twentynine spans of wire from the main line up on the county road to our house, and the twenty third span is the one down. The cutout is at the end of the eighth span, killing power to twenty four homes, all but four having private wells (including ours) so not only no electricity, but no water. Oh, and no innernet either. So I won’t be checking in much until the power is restored. The electric utility (the one I worked at as a truck mechanic for 30 years) had over 150,000 customers out of power Saturday morning, mostly around Camano Island. This morning they still have over 75,000 out, and the focus is the areas where the larger numbers of customers are affected, so our small number of affected customers aren’t a priority.
  11. I’ve got two Rockauto refrigerator magnets with Z cars on them (and dozens of magnets with other cars on them). One with John’s Z, and one with a 300Z owned by “Steve”. (I actually have two of the ones with Steve’s car, maybe I could trade it with someone who has one I don’t have)
  12. Actually, I think it is staying on, at least for the moment. Because signatures don’t show on a mobile device (like my iPhone) and I forgot about that detail, I made the above post while browsing from my phone thinking signatures were switched off. On my iPad now, which behaves more like a laptop or PC, and the signatures show.
  13. I hope to sell all of the ones outside. All but one has a title, and getting a title for that one should be easy considering how long it has been since it was last registered. The 280ZX, a 280Z, and a 240Z we’re running when I parked them 18 years ago. A couple of the others look like some heavy snow was unkind to the roofs. I’ll be able to make a better assessment after I get them away from the back wall of the shop and cleaned up a bit. I have 5 complete cars inside, and hope to keep them all, but time will tell . . . . . . . The brown 72 I’m keeping for sure, as well as the race Z. I also have a low number 240Z, 6/70 manufacture date, vin 5957, but it doesn’t have the original engine, and is in rough shape. I also have a 280Z, yellow, with louvers, I suspect it is one of those Zapp cars.
  14. Well, I own 14 Z cars, although some are not complete, and at present only two are in a state where they could be running and driving with minimal effort. I’m retiring January 5, and the plan is to get busy assembling and tuning. Oh, and selling off the ones that are essentially a title, vin tag and data plates.
  15. I found the switch, and turned it back on for me, but see that today it is off again. Why doesn’t it stay on?
  16. I think he was talking about the “ignore this thread” feature where one can choose to not see a given thread. As for the ignore a member feature, not once in 25 years of participating in innernet forums have I ever used it. Sure, there have been jackwads who have tested my resolve, but I only ignore them figuratively, by not acknowledging their existence, not responding to their posts, rather than put them on a list. I think that sends a stronger message.
  17. Perhaps a recent update unchecked the box. Go to Account Settings>Signature and move the slider button to the right. I just did and now I see signatures.
  18. Nice to have an extra for times like this.
  19. Stubborn damper pulley? My foggy memory seems to recall two threaded holes on the center part. Can’t recall ever having difficulty sliding one off though.
  20. Looks like Cliff (@siteunseen) has your situation covered.
  21. Looks like a 66 Impala in the background. Takes me back to when I had a 66 SS396 Impala. Big block, Turbo 400, posi, smoked the tires down to the cords real quick. I miss that car.
