Strut Mount Insulator - OEM vs After Market?
I thought the taller ones were a 280Z thing. https://zcardepot.com/products/upper-strut-mount-spacer-240z-260z-280z?variant=19280977494129 The rear spacers for a 240Z are only $11.00 for the pair https://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic20h06/23-4166 so they will match the the size of the upper front bearings https://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic20h06/23-4376

Strut Mount Insulator - OEM vs After Market?
I'm getting ready to go through the suspension on my 71 240Z. I find that OEM strut mount insulators are ~$80.00 https://zcardepot.com/products/strut-mount-upper-insulator-front-rear-oem-240z-260z-280z and after market @ ZCarDepot are $48.00. https://zcardepot.com/products/strut-mount-upper-insulator-front-rear-oem-240z-260z-280z-1 Anybody have experience with the after market ones. The saving on all 4 is like $120.00 for the aftermarket.

Fuel pump issues - Elec pump controller
Why not just use an inertia switch to cut power to the pump in a crash. https://www.amazon.com/Ford-5L2Z-9341-Genuine-5L2z9341a-Inertia/dp/B000NTI03C/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=ford+inertia+switch&qid=1558051529&s=automotive&sr=1-2

Quick and dirty SU Tuning
I wonder how much effect altitude has on all this? Those of us in the Rocky Mountain region of the USA are typically at 4,400 elevation or higher.

Header Fitment Issue - What to Grind
On my 240Z I had interference with the thermostat housing too. I ground a little off the thermostat housing flange.

Handling quirk
I had only heard of torque steer on front wheel drive cars. Did they do a full alignment after all the suspension work?

@jalexquijano Is the air filter box shown in the 1st post in this thread on your 240z? If so, where did you find it? Thanks, Wilkes

What is this engine part???
Is it metal or plastic? If plastic it looks like the push out center of the plastic interior panel rivets. https://www.dkhardware.com/datsun-trim-panel-plastic-rivet-cp764361-product-14721.html

Anyone know what this document is?
Yep, see it now that you point it out, thanks.

Anyone know what this document is?
Looks like one of those old 2 part forms where the bottom is snapped off and kept by the dealer. Looks like your customer portion is complete, the total for the car and upgrades looks like it was $8155.07. Looks like he might have paid cash.

Air Filter Housing??
Can't remember which thread I hoovered this from. Is this a custom made air filter housing or does someplace sell these? Looks like it takes the stock air filter.

Early 260z Alternator Upgrade
You should read through tis thread, it talks about doing exactly what you're talking about. It does sound different than doing the electric pump in the early 240z's though.

My Mecum Purchase - 1972 240Z

Datsun-240z Vs Fairlady-z432
My early 71 also had those almost useless knobs. I swapped in some seats from a 77 280Z, new foam and leather from Interior Innovations, and now have the flip forward option which is really nice for access to the jack and tools under the plastic hinged covers.

Alternator Upgrade for '71 240Z
If this means do the Headlight relay kit too, I completely agree. I've also done all external bulbs to LED to lower the power draw throughout the wiring harness.

Alternator Upgrade for '71 240Z
If you're tlking the kit that comes with the alternator and the Voltage Regulator replacement adapter, yes - it's a straight swap. Very easy deal! https://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic10b04/12-4068

Home Built Z 'Full video build'
Fantastic, congrats! One thing to remember is you're almost sitting on the rear axle and that front end is quite a ways out there. You wouldn't believe how may dented front of the hoods I've seen over the years due to people not realizing how far out in front the nose really is. The rest of that is to remember not to turn too soon and hit curb with the rear wheel.
