  1. I thought I'd read on these forums somewhere about a recurring race between SU's and triples and this last go round the SU's won? ? @DiseazdWas it you?
  2. I'd be partial to the stroker. Less in the wiring without the turbo and FI. The Z Therapy carbs are close to bullet proof. Also with the stroker there is no "turbo lag". Just my 2¢.
  3. If it's got hte Interpart louvers, I want them!
  4. Sounds like the first thing to do is get the hood open. 😁 I've read on these forums that it can be done from underneath the car reaching up to the hood latch with a long tool like a long screw driver to push the latch towards the left side of the car.
  5. Same error in the land of Zion too. And again, it sure would be nice to have the member map back.
  6. Just looking at the 2 pictures Kats posted it looks to me like... With the way this G-nose is configured and with the raised hood center at the rear of the hood it looks like a venturi entrance in the nose to accelerate and condense the air entering the front of the car and the hood configuration should create a low-pressure area at the rear of the hood to provide suction for air exiting the engine bay.
  7. All I can say is my stock 240Z started to feel like the front end was flooting at around 90MPH. I put headlight cover on and an air dam and the car feels solid on the road at over 100MPH. As far as drag goes I believe that these changes to the front of the car added about 3MPG. No numbers here, just my own impressions. If you want to talk drag, take a look at the front of my wifes truck in my sig. But the slightly modified small block made it not to noticeable.
  8. If we're going down that road, let's go all the way back...
  9. Flamin' Hot @ about the 8:30 mark - Interesting movie about the Flamin' Hot Doritos flavor chips.
  10. I wasn't aware of this being doable without Dave's wiring mod that makes posts 1 & 2 positive and post 3 negative. I ended up with Dave's mod to fix the polarity for the bulbs I bought. Search: 1 result found for "tj 97-2015" (eaglelights.com)
  11. One caution on LED headlights (at least for a 240Z) is the way Datsun did the polarity. Here's a thread I did after switching to LED headlights on my car.
  12. Rota RB's 15x7 4 205/60 R15's Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus
  13. On the brake light on the speedo, have you checked the emergency brake switch? It may have a broken plunger switch.
  14. On my 12/70 car that wire was wrapped under blue tape on the harness like the wire in the bundle in the cabin for an electric fuel pump. The wire has power when the key is in the run position. It was perfect for me to use for my fan relay when I converted to electric fans.
  15. I'm just over 4.5 miles south of HAFB almost directly on line of the runway. Get to see all kinds of military aircraft. About 40 years ago I got to watch a SR-71 doing touch and goes at Hill. The base has one of the nicest golf courses around and is well deserved by those who serve and have served! Thank you for your service!
  16. Idaho Falls is where we get off I-15 to head up to my friend's cabin in Island Park for our annual fall fishing trip. We fish Hebgen Lake up at the end where the Madison River comes in.
  17. Now that the record snowfall in northern Utah has melted in the valleys the shows have started. Typically I have the only Datsun flanked by Detroit steel. Plenty of folks are interested in the car, had one in years gone by or had a friend with one, but these are very rarely seen in this neck of the woods due to massive amounts of salt used on the roads in the winter. Something about being right next to the Great Salt Lake makes salt readily available. Here I am again as the lone Z car... More of the show here... 18. I'd not seen this live version before, thanks @dutchzcarguy. Great song, great band and what a great performance. I bought the Moontan album when it came out back in 1973. And yes, this song is on my road trip mix playlist.
  19. That flasher will work just fine. It will even work if you switch to LED bulbs.
  20. If you want the Seal n Peel stuff Amazon has it. Amazon.com: Dap 18354 Seal 'N Peel Removable Caulk, 10.1-Ounce : Industrial & Scientific
  21. I've used 91 non-ethanol and 88 non-ethanol. Can't tell the difference, they both run great. My altitude is pretty much 4,500 ft. and above.
  22. So from all the responses I'm guessing there's no longer a member map with location stick pins?
  23. I thought I remembered a map with "stick pins" with member locations? I'm a snowbird and spend winters in the St George, Utah area. This year I've seen a very nice black Z with the tail light panel painted silver, no bumpers and it has a V8. I stopped the guy once but didn't get his name, he said he had to get on the move before he over heated. Since I've seen the car a couple of times weeks apart from each other I'm guessing the car is local to the St George, UT area. I'd like to see that map and see if I can find this person.
  24. On the question of the thread title... When I had my carbs done by ZTherapy I did the tank and all rubber lines with new Gates hose rated for E85 if we're ever forced to go that way. Since I did the whole fuel supply front to back I've run nothing but ethanol free fuel which is readily available here in Utah. The car seems to be very happy with the ethanol free fuel.
  25. Seems like there was a thread where the person had turned the top vent pipe 180* so that there was no hose bend required.
