Just wait for the rebound. In modern history we’ve seen two incredible stock market rebounds after: 1987’s black Monday, 2008’s financial crisis. The one after COVID-19 will be preceded by a blood bath of bankruptcies and take overs / consolidations bur we will witness one of the biggest rallies in history. The killer is the likes of Shell, Vodafone, BP etc which are pension plays and many pensioners who live off the dividends (based on share price) will suffer hugely in the short term. :( After every forest fire there is an explosion of growth, but you have to survive the devastation first! Most of us on this forum are lucky enough to have reserves but I really feel for those living pay cheque to pay cheque.

Totally agree with the stats not being 100% honest / correct! Given the run on the markets I doubt any government is being truly transparent. In fact the measurement is clearly a problem in the first instance as pointed out. I’ve heard and read some very entertaining conspiracy theories: 1. Our government is over reacting to a silly virus - they want to crash the system and get rid of cash so that they can track all our payments/activities. 2. This was done on purpose to reduce the older population of the planet. 3. It was a biological warfare experiment gone wrong. 4. It started in the US and spread like wildfire in Wuhan where conditions were right. The US clearly wanted to teach China a lesson. 5. The governments want to show you how much control they have over your life and now with a little virus can tell you when to leave your house or not! I just can’t see how the view below is beneficial to any government: On a more serious note, I’ve noticed much greater level of solidarity and unity in our local communities where people are banding together to look after each other. We are working on supporting low income families, ensuring food banks and packages reach those who need it the most, WhatsApp group for the entire road to ensure our elderly (or anyone) can reach out if they are in trouble, helping the less computer literate elderly set up home delivery for groceries etc. Meanwhile, at the supermarket the locusts are still hoovering up toilet rolls and pasta!!! Meanwhile in the AK household, I’m hoarding sand / cement and lubricants! The former for getting all those jobs done in the next two weeks if they close the hardware stores, the latter for getting the Z sorted and ready for the summer! As a matter of interest, the “other” lubricants you may have thought of have also had a run on in the supermarket - not that I was looking to buy of course! ;) Just found it entertaining.

The early/late thing definitely applies to us too. While we didn’t get the “impressive” bumpers or the BHP reducing emissions stuff, the earlier “inferior” 260Zs (joke flag flying high and proud before I get shot) have many commonalities with the 240Zs - e.g. the hub offsets are the same, the floor supports / chassis rails don’t go all the way back, inferior door cards [emoji12] etc etc. My ‘77 “Late” 260Z is much closer to your 280Zs (which we never got) but without fuel injection. All our S30s got rear anti-roll bars out of the factory. In the UK we got the 2 seater until ‘75 then all only 2+2 until 77/78 when the 2 seater reappeared with the stronger chassis etc for just two years. Alan can tell you a huge lot more but this is based on what I’ve seen in the flesh / photos between the models here.

Ha! I am such a whore! Dated so many Zs in my time, and I have intimate knowledge!!!! [emoji13][emoji41]

I would have thought this should have been one of the first to close ... On the upside, the virus has created a much closer community in our road. We now have a WhatsApp group so that all the neighbours can look after each other, especially as houses turn over every 40-50 years and we have a number or elderly residents in the road. One neighbour has lived in the road for over 80 years!!! Born and bread here.

I do hope Mr Randalla gets his kits out as I would have gladly bought one. During the dip in supply, I bought some banjos from this Ebay seller ... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F222198287858 As it happens, by a very happy coincidence, the top of the banjo is exactly 23mm from the float bowl gasket!! Front carb ... Rear carb ... It seems that my ZTherapy carbs bought 6 years ago, survived the vibrations from the west coast, across the ocean to Blighty and all the abuse I’ve thrown at them to remain perfectly balanced as set up by ZT!

I think it was JonBills that said 22 degrees first in this threat - I merely echoed. I blame Jon :p But you are right most articles say 14. Having said that I have read 22 degrees somewhere else’s also! [emoji848]

Not sure about the Kia motor Ash, but here’s a thread to a similar motor swap in the UK that you may find interesting ... https://zclub.net/community/index.php?threads/blower-motor-swap.22057/

The “Mahan” airline owned by the Islamic revolutionary guard of Iran has been regularly flying to Wuhan and back with students / guards etc. They publicly denied it until they couldn’t any longer! Furthermore, they told people it was nothing to worry about to ensure they turned out to vote during recent elections. Meanwhile the high ranking mullahs and their families have been flown to Russia and other neighbouring counties to be protected. You really can’t make it up! https://en.radiofarda.com/a/iran-guard-s-airline-continued-regular-flights-to-china-despite-official-denials/30452950.html Italy was simply slow to diagnose and given that they are incapable of communicating without hands and touch, it was a fate acompli! ;) you know the old joke? What do you call an Italian with only one arm? . . . . . A dyslexic! :p Just got back from supermarket and the usual lack of loo roll and sanitiser aside, all the pasta, pesto, tomato sauce and flour were completely wiped out!! I didn’t realise there were that many Italians in the UK!? [emoji848]

I have a very similar engine to yours but with shaved E88 head. SUs are producing a measured 232bhp at 6200 rpm and the tuner said he thinks it would be over 240 if he had taken it to 6800 but backed off as he is used to dealing with British Layland cars ;) also it was going a little lean. While getting lean at the top, it had no trouble breathing. The right needles will sort that out. I’m still in the process of finding the ideal needles as the tuner was modifying my SM needles while we were unaware of several air leaks behind the carbs. ZTherapy thought that my engine should be fine on SM, so that tells you something also about SU carbs. I think either lightly modified SM or unmodified MC would be correct for my car but I have yet to find the time to fine tune. ZTherapy run their SCCA car revving to 8K rpm on stock sized SUs with modified needles and producing big numbers. The beauty of SU carbs is low and mid range throttle response and power for the 70% rest of the time you’re not WOT. Also a piece of cake to set up. So my advice is get your carbs properly tuned but EFi is of course king when it comes to perfect fulling maps. If you go efi and cost isn’t a big factor, consider the Jenvy Throttle Bodies ... https://store.jenvey.co.uk/nissan-datsun-cknn03-1 And of course if you want the triple look / sound with EFi, then there is this ... https://store.jenvey.co.uk/throttle-bodies-and-components/throttle-bodies/heritage-dcoe

Assuming it’s not the wing / fender, then I believe you need: shims, an entire weekend, the patience of a saint, the blood of a virgin and an exorcist. Oh and a friend with a lot of time on their hands to hold things too.

Prohibition all over again!? ;) surely hard alcohol is the way to kill it? Serious mode back on - sorry to hear that! My friends in Italy (Lale Garda) have now been told that now they are no longer allowed to leave home except to go to supermarket or pharmacy - it even allowed out for walks etc! [emoji849][emoji15] Ps. When you next think you have it bad, consider this ... https://foreignpolicy.com/2020/03/06/internet-sex-coronavirus-no-porn-for-chinese-stuck-under-virus-lockdown/

Most welcome CO. Those are brilliant links / read you found - my hours of insomnia can be quite informative going through that. (It’s 04:15 here [emoji15]) Re. The state of the world as is, I don’t think I’ve done this much intensive work on the house as I have been of late. Even been fixing the roof in between monsoon like showers. My wife is also on indefinite working from home and the school just wrote to say they may close physically and go google classroom next week. Quarantined with the kids!? Arrrrrghhhhh! Next job is to get the ignition timing right on the Z ;). If only!! Back on topic, it’s interesting that some of those guys are taking timing away as the curve flattens. I was always told 1 degree extra per 1000 rpm after the curve goes flat. Will have to try the taking away timing thing on the next RR session.

Yep, much the same this side of the pond. The ENTIRE aisle of loo rolls, kitchen rolls, soap and hand wash had been visited by the locusts. My wife popped out for some paracetamol and all of that stuff is now all gone too! So to console her I pulled out my timing curve. Should have seen the look [emoji1787][emoji13]

This is great Jon - it looks like your engine comes on song at 4K rpm. Does this lot correlate with your BHP curve? How did you get this table? What are the parameters used to generate it? Does it take into consideration things like inlet tract / header length etc or is it purely what happens in the engine by itself? [MENTION] Captain Obvious[/MENTION] - we need one of these .... https://www.kistler.com/en/product/type-611xc/

Likewise sir - just enjoying the fun with you! [emoji106]
