  1. The butterfly flaps are only just a little open probably like 95%, the linkage seems to be fine, I will try pinching the hose tomorrow to see if that keeps rpms lower.
  2. The choke doesnt seem to be the problem the jets are fully up, is it possible that the new fuel pump i have has too much fuel pressure and is giving too much gas. I know theres something wrong with the carbs or the pump, would it be worth while to get some new ones

Hi guys, im having an issue with my startup, whenever i start it up it revs out of control and im forced to stop it because it seems like its going full throttle Info: Twin SU Carbs Smog Equipment removed L24 Block N42 Head And sometimes it revs all the way, stops, air pops out of the carb then it revs back up again almost to red line and continues

I opened my engine that had that combo 2.4 block with N42 head, but there were no notches and no scratches, the bore isn't 83 mm though it is ~83.9 mm +/- 0.05 mm, at least that's what I got, is that 0.9 mm oversize good enough for clearance, because like I said there are no indications on the valves touching. Nick Edit: Upon closer inspection only cylinder #6 has a little scratch where the exhaust valve goes, but that is the only one and it is nothing compared to the one you showed earlier. it is about 4 mm wide.
