  1. Rainy Sunday z project! Finally got my cable mount installed for my new cable driven ITB setup. This is a lokar cable to a stock 240z pedal with the ball end removed. Then I made a tiny bushing. Everything is snug and works as it should. IMG_5385.mov
  2. Well my balance bar design is done. Basically i made decorative bolt on injector blanks for my vintage SK throttles. Should work awesome. The goal was to mimic what SK had in the 80s, these are my take on the original block off plates and vac plates. Next off to get cnc’d
  3. Prepping the engine bay for Larry's new injectors at the head intake.
  4. I am just starting down this path. Super fun!
  5. Buy direct and save, most US dealers rip people off. https://jessestreeter.com/ got my wheels for me. I saved over 1k. Unless you are in a giant hurry. Jesse would save you money.
  6. Google reviews on his company. https://www.ebay.com/itm/295560216805?hash=item44d0c300e5%3Ag%3A5U8AAOSwV4BfeS-O&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAABEAU9fCdHyLszYfhfKQQjr6Luy%2FpSsZAoqfPz37lYFs3rV%2FPNhOsyKCk4N%2FDHDvxIQeje5qNXcaE576XyP83HvH33TzEv9P8cozdUXi12FHAOTsD1DE1LM1Ybb03HgxuoZqMveCNEFueTnDKRrORP7pnH61%2BlR0E10oPWD8RGpkblaDMFe3PZgWFZCS%2FoiQSHEAC4zvDufAMPIp70QJFGH6JCdAKFLN0UgHLA7BwOR%2BVlPyKWas3YGZWJ3EGuH82QaYNgYHjAuh2MJ9F9NpAe3nwNbG1N5eM%2Ffw0IdYuQjHjNb51Mp1Aipu32KvS%2FLt%2Fh4GKBnbWdtfZkkGOi9i6StFvFKyvTqxbrsYjVLtO6WmXB|tkp%3ABk9SR_6r4KDhYQ&fbclid=IwAR0Vd3V2dTIe_dQ-LnDDs3khaHTuRqYIwB4VDu3Bx8i36l9WsQCOWOKItkI
  7. I did a whole transmission twice in a vapor honing setup. It took forever! Looks amazing though.
  8. ITB DBW update. Installed, feels and looks like stock! I had the stock pedal pad copied, then laser cut. Then welded onto the 350z pedal rod. I also had the pad bent to match my stock pedal and also clocked to match. After that I got it all powder coated to match. Should work great! I can tell it’s not attached to linkage, but it still feels somewhat stock. I like how I can’t really tell it’s not stock without looking hard. IMG_3890.MOV
  9. Laser cut, welded, powder coated and ready to install! Clocking and bend is about perfect from stock. Stoked
  10. Gosh this is going to be nice. laser cut plate welded then off to powder.
  11. A quick little update on my 240z DBW gas pedal box from a 350z. I drilled the plate to match the 240z one then ground off the pedal stop. Lines up and bolts right in! I get full pedal travel and the stock stop on the floor it’s nicely. Next is buying a stock gas pedal and cutting off the pedal plate and welding it onto this one. Then powder coat it all to match the stock black. All in all very nice and easy.
  12. Well I’m 99% sure I’m going DBW(drive by wire) on my ITB setup. I will be swapping ecus when I get Larry Asp new injectors at the head intake. I was googling DBW pedals and I thought the 350z pedal box looked mighty similar to the 240z one. I got one to check and wow it’s close. I love when manufacturers don’t stray too far from designs. Then googling some more and freaking Etsy sells a direct mount for it! Now I need to change the pedal pad to look stock, and powder coat the housing. But it should be a very simple mod/ install. This will unlock cold starts, progressive throttles and a host of other things like torque control etc… This is all Aaron Neubauer fault for posting about Emtron and their neat tuning method throttle mass flow.
  13. If someday you aren't happy with the SU's. The next step shouldn't be efi, unless you like to tinker and like computers or are fine spending money on tuning. EFI when do right is amazing, but not easy.
  14. I would not say ITB is easy, but I am not giving up. Emtron has a tuning method for their ecu, it's called Throttle Mass Flow. Basically knowing before throttle plate and after throttle plate pressure, throttle position, plus temp, plus throttle size they can calculate air going into the motor at anytime. Having the ECU know that gives it an ability to self tune and run. I will be swapping ECUs soon.
  15. Turning an old car from carbs to EFI isn't super simple, also nobody tends to do it the same way. That is why there is no how to, I also don't want to write such a thing. I would consider myself a newbie at best. Why do you want efi? Su carbs are awesome and highly underated. If I was smart, I would put mine back on. Going ITB, has been extremely challenging. Luckily there is more info now and new ecu's are coming out that address some of the issues with ITB. A few things to think about. All of these can be solved with money, if you have it. How will the ecu know what stroke it's on? There are a few ways to do this, cam trigger, crank triggers, flywheel etc.. Plenum or ITB What ECU Are you good at wiring? Whats your end goal?
  16. Something in from Australia! A progressive cam for the overhead bar and my ITB. It would also work with triples. Basically it increases pedal modulation, so this gives you more pedal movement with less throttle blade movement. Should help with street driving and my throttles trying to take huge gulps of air with a tiny amount of pedal travel. Weber kc332 Now machined out to 10mm. Just barely enough room. I had to have the allen bolt turned down.
  17. I have an original SK airbox for those. Nos. It's funky and a rectangle, but if you interested pm me.
  18. Going triples isn't for the faint of heart. If you love to tinker, or have access to a local carb tuner, then I say go for it. If that isn't your cup of tea, stay away. They are not just bolt on and go.
  19. Replacing gaskets and cleaning doesn't take long, so it shouldn't be too expensive. I would say 2-3 hours worth of work. Completely taking them apart, vapor blasting or similar, all new zinc hardware, fully setup takes a lot of time and will cost $.
  20. Kyushahouse would be about as good as it gets for SK carbs. They are on the rarer side here in the states. OER still makes and sells parts for them, but it's hard to get them here these days.
  21. I am using the 240z hand throttle system. On my pedal. It was 41 here this am, soon it will be 20-32 in the am, then warm up to the 50-60s during the day. Then soon it will snow and the z will go to sleep.
