  1. I should get the o2 meter today. Hopefully the tailpipe reader works well enough, or it will be time to get the welder out.
  2. Thanks! Gosh I hope it's a u-joint. Nothing is loose. I did remove them all when I did the last round of zinc. So that is a thought. I am just hoping its not something super important or hard to repair. I bought an portable o2 meter, I think my carbs aren't happy. I have a feeling i have them too rich.
  3. Yeah, the classic bronco world (i own a 1977) is totally more expensive for all parts. All brake kits are in the 2-3k range. Stoptech and Zcar got together and designed up this package.
  4. So BBK kit by ZCarGarage is literally amazing. Honestly it’s the best stopping power of any car I have ever driven. Pedal feel is great. Clears everything nicely. Wants to throw me through the window. I’m not an expert, but I think the bias feels amazing. E-brake setup works well but has to be set. Also you have to move the e-brake springs to a lower mount. I decided I wanted this setup for now. I want to park her on a steep hill and see how the e-brake holds
  5. Well test run didn't go well, I have a strange crack sort of sound when I got from stop to forward and back and also a slapping sound at higher speed. Trans seems to shift fine. It's a little too modern feeling, I am thinking it might be better without the short throw shifter. Hopefully it's something dumb. Noise doesn't seem to be coming from the trans or the rear end. Rear end doesn't whine. Which I think is good.
  6. I got married last week, so progress slowed down. Hopefully driving it this weekend. The e-brake is in. Basically attached right up. I used a simple C clip to hold it in. It doesn’t need it. But I thought it would help. I need to adjust it currently it too many clicks up, the goal is 5-6 the e brake calipers lock the wheels down crazy tight. I have installed the master. I found a write up on here about bench bleeding. I tried this method. I really liked it. Zero air left in. I’m going dot4 race fluid from stoptech. My favorite drive is a 10 mile 2k vertical hill climb to my local ski resort. Brakes get hot on the way down. I hate brake fluid. Hate it. Somehow I got some in my eye.

  8. Rear e brake is on. Just waiting on a rear brake hose and some fluid.
  9. I bought it through Alibaba, but I think amazon might have the same one. It has interchangeable tips, but they took 2 months to ship from china.
  10. I don’t know if it’s nuts, but thank you. The goal is continue to have fun building it. This will be my last project for the summer then it’s driving time! Everything I do can be un- bolted and put back to stock as well. I am crating all original parts. Also I like the idea of it appearing mostly stock outside of the stance and visible stuff like brakes. Next? Honestly I don’t know. Part of me wants to crate the stock motor and build a more fun one. Who knows.
  11. I can see the casting marks now. It’s an off the shelf caliper but with custom piston sizes for the Z. I talked with zcg this am about it.
  12. The fact that they are milled, and they have z garage on the caliper before and after powder coating. So when they were being made it was added. it's just a guess. Also how tiny of a rotors they fit around. Stop tech makes all the parts, all the brackets, bolts etc.. I would guess it was a from the ground up design. The fact that they aren't cast calipers means they could change them however they wanted.
  13. My guess is they aren't off the shelf. But who knows.
  14. I can’t say a price. But I will say it’s the most expensive on the market. But it’s the only one on the market that will clear 15’s. Honestly I have 3k carbs. I should have the safest/best brakes I can. Brakes and judgement are about the only safety options are z’s have.
  15. Looks like the calipers could be milled.
  16. With the calipers they went with, if it was rear trailing it would hit the strut tube. So I’m guessing they were forced to pick forward. Parking brake Caliper goes on the top. For now it’s a wilwood. It’s been a long time since I installed something that was this easy and thought out.
  17. Well I’m assuming stop tech has massive amounts of resources (foundry, their own tooling etc in china..). I was told ground up design. But I would guess off the shelf calipers? Only thing that leads me to think they aren’t is the fact that I had to wait for a batch to come from overseas. Since there were no calipers in the US. The kit gets used on track cars. It requires the stock MC. I bet it’s a exact ratio of front to rear bias. Factoring in caliper size piston size, then pad size then mc pressure front and rear. You could always use a adjustable rear if you wanted.
  18. My z is getting the BIG Brake Kit from zcargarage. I’m so happy with it. Here is my thread on it https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/62261-zcargarage-big-brake-kit/?tab=comments#comment-576731
  19. Shorten drive shaft is in. I wish i would have gone 1/8-1/4” longer. Also got the exhaust back hung.
