Schneider Camshaft 274F
Cool Beans Chickenman. I still got to open the engine up and do some poking' around in there. I hope things were done right in this engine but not overdone for my purposes. I'm not gonna be racing just cruising when I get it going. Thanks for input.

Schneider Camshaft 274F
About a year ago when I bought my 06/71 240Z someone was spending lots o money on good parts and the engine has been rebuilt or so I was told. The previous owner was gonna build it to do some racing with I heard. Well that never happened thank goodness. I can tell someone was buying great parts cause I got all of it with the car back then. It has a brand new still has break in grease on the cam lobes Schneider 274F grind cam in the head. I went to Schneider's site sounds like a groovy little mild cam. Car came with 6 into 1 headers and a lot of cosmetic stuff. Anyone ever ran this cam? Any comments about this cam with 6/1 headers? Thanks

Front Coil Spring Length 240Z ????
Tanks zKars for the input. I think I'm gonna just take the left side apart on my car and get that rear spring out of there. The right side has the correct spring. I will build the left side with a spring like is now on the right. Right now when I push up and down on the front fenders one side is stiffer than the other and it has some height difference. All will work out well. Driver weight not an issue here. I weigh all of 135 lbs. Have to run around in the shower just to get wet ya know!!!!

1970 249Z Brake Booster
Cool thanks for the heads up. I'm gonna give my old booster a chance when I drive it someday. If I get a reman I will keep my old booster, just like you did. I can't let go of some of that OEM stuff right now either.

Front Coil Spring Length 240Z ????
In my Haynes manual the specs at the start of suspension and steering chapter states as follows: 240Z: Front Coil Spring wire diameter 0.417 both sides, LH and RH. The free length states: LH is 14.1 and RH is 15.1.....If I am seeing this right then why a 1 inch difference in the length of front coil springs on a 240? Next to this it states a 260Z both sides are 15.5 inches long, just saying. When I put my stuff under the front wheels a while back I saw this in the Haynes manual and got to checking my front springs. I put things back together as they came apart, does not make it right I know but I have a rear spring on the front left and not sure about the front right. Someone fuggered it up in the past. I have several extra OEM good springs so I'm thinking of taking both side apart and build with two springs of same length. Your thoughts???? Thanks

Wagner Heat Gun for Floor Pan Tar!!!
Lucky me I did not get much on my hands, arms etc. I just eased along with the gun and did not get the tar stuff too hot and gooey. Got a little on my hands but my hands stay stained up most time anyway from car or motorcycles work.......;)

Wagner Heat Gun for Floor Pan Tar!!!
I'm sure this method has been used by others and this suggestion may go better in the Paint and Body Section. I just want to catch a lot of eyes with my suggestion. If you have a Heat Gun then give it a try on that black tar stuff that's stuck to the floor pans and other places. I can't get dry ice very easy and it's Sunday night to boot. I got my Wagner Heat Gun out and it worked really great at helping me remove that black tar coating in the passenger side floor pan area, etc . Heat gun, good lighting, couple of scrapers / putty knives and I had a big area clean in short order. Got me some cleaning to go but it got the majority of that hard tar removed. As a added bonus the gun keeps things warm and it's cool out tonight. Gun was cheap plus you can use it all around the house or car and the work area stayed dry. Hey it was a win, win!!! Hope this helps others with their Z car.

1970 249Z Brake Booster
New member here. Great site by the way....... Also I will test again this brake booster this weekend. A few days ago I rented the vacuum tool thingy from Autozone and tried to pull a vacuum on the old, looks original, brake booster. I did this first test with the brake master cylinder removed / unbolted from the booster on my work bench and got zero vacuum, needle did not move on the pump gun. Question........Did I do the test right or does the master cylinder need to be bolted on the booster to seal that hole with push rod etc up airtight? And if my brake booster is truly bad what are the options? Take it apart and try to fix if doable? Repair kit if I can find one? Or just buy one that fits? I had the car for about a year and I just figured it was bad. Have not driven the car yet lots of work still to get it back roadworthy. Could be may need to wait til I drive it someday see how brakes feel. If it ain't broke then don't fix it...said the wise man, right?.......... Thanks guys in advance.
