Failed smog test
Hey guys so I just smoged my 78' 280z. It failed the guy told me it was running rich everything else is ok. Idk what it could be I was thinking maybe a bad sensor? I'll post a picture of the results and idk you guys tell me what I should look at and what I might need to replace. The car starts and idles around 1000-1200 rpms than after it warms it settles down to 700-800. I did notice when I change gears maybe from 2 to 3 it does a little extra push on the gas. Idk what do you guys think?

I checked the sensors and they came out easily, they don't have a clip to the sensors. Also I'm posting a picture to make sure that I'm also doing this right and it's the right sensors.I checked that box looking one and the one after the white connector. All this is under the Raditor hose.ill post a second one from a farther distance to get a better look.

I have not checked it yet I will today and I removed my pump and I found a bit of grimy dirt coming out of the pump where fuel goes out to the fuel line.

Need help
Ok I will start from the beginning (Day One) I bought this car about 7 months ago. It was a barn find, it only turned on when it had a full charge battery and faning the gas pedal. Also if you touched the Ignition wire connected to the Ignition coil it will automatically die. So I switched out the Ignition wires as well as new spark plugs to play it safe. After that car wouldn't start and I noticed my batter was draining fast. ( I bought a new battery) so I changed the alternator and car still wouldn't start again. Finally I decided to work on fuel system so I changed the pump and drained the tank of any gas it had and put in new gas. I try to start my car and it finally started. Than over time I i began working on rust but I'd still turn my car on to charge batter and to make to see if anything else is wrong and nothing...Fast forward to the beginning of the year. I try to start my car like I always do( just stepping on the clutch no gas fanning at all) and it wouldn't start, so I try again and it started but barely and it died shortly after. So I tried again but I fanned the gas pedal and it started and i gaved it gas to stay on and it did, for maybe about 1 min and it died. Later I hear the hissing sound so I switched the FPR and still nothing. The hissing went away I didn't try to start it for a month than maybe about 2 and half weeks ago I start it I did fan the gas pedal and it started but it died as soon as I stopped giving it gas and also a HUGE smell of gas came in. Now I'm here.

Ok thank you so it's a good thing I didn't bother adding the Filter ? I did see Alantic Z post and I saw it sketchy where I'm like "it's hanging isn't that a tad dangerous ?" thank you

Need help
So I live in Cali. So weather is warm out her always. I ran my car for about 5mins in my back yard (it's pretty big) and I haven't used it for 2 months. After that I try to start it, and it wouldn't start until I pressed the gas. It still struggled to turn on but it did and than after I stop giving it gas it died again. Like if it didn't have gas. I originally had this problem the first time i got this car. So I switched the pump and it started back up again with no struggle. Also when it was working it could idle, I had no problems and it could warm up and still have no problems. And for the FPR so hissing is ok?? I know there was no gas leakage in the vacuum hose at all. But with the new FPR there's no hissing and it started up just twice.

What is this??
Yes everything is bone stock except the FPR and Fuel Pump, I'm thinking my pump is bad because, I turned my car on last week and I had to step on the gas to barely get it to start, and if I stop giving it gas it will die and sound like it has no gas but it's full tank. also I bought a Fram G3 Fuel Filter, some people say it's good to add it, is it true? And if so I'm guessing I install in between pump and damper? And thank you for the help much appreciated I'm trying to get this car to one car meet and tear it down for restoration.

Need help
Hey guys so I recently replaced my fuel pump (Has a max psi of 95), my car started to run perfectly fine for the first time. Fast forward 2 months...I start it up and it died as if it didn't have gas. So I decided to change the FPR since it was hissing. Then my car started up again but it dies if I don't apply gas. So I looked back at my pump and I see this filter looking thing on top of the pump(I didn't see it the first time, this is my first project car I'm learning). I know it's connected to the fuel system so I'm wonder is this a fuel filter? Like an additional one? Also for the FPR (Fuel Pressure regulator) what's a good psi to have it before i try to start I know it goes between 30 and 40 before even trying to crank. Thanks guys.

Hey guys so I'm removing my fenders but this gold plate I can't seem to find a way to take it off without breaking it anyone know How? Is it screw on or more like a "be careful use a credit card" type of thing?
