It's a red 1977 280Z minus transmission.. for $100... It will have a good N42 head and block... air dam, louvers good dash, and ok body parts... has rust in some areas... Will not have transmission $100 located in Aurora Colorado

Cabr icing can occur in even 70* degree Faren. temperatures with high humidity.. This naturally strengthens with altitude... Now this is for aircrafts.. but just a fact... Carbs are Carbs.. on an aircraft or not... But you'll be fine if your under 3,000 ft sea level

Factory mags.. are not truely factory.. HOWEVER... they were dealrship offered... soo.. if you bought a Z you could buy one new with "mags" that many people mistake for "factory mags" but they were dealership installed

If i recall... the stock R32 GTR seats are factory Recaro seats! I could be wrong.. but the R34 had Recaro's I think the Recaro's look better, but the R32 seats are cool.. if you don't want the R32 seats.. I'll take em!

hmm.. so you think I should mock up some PVC pipe's and then take it to an exhuast shop to use as a reference and build a downpipe?? This is soo frustrating.. soo much for my budget turbo swap Anyone have a spare 280ZX downpipe or wategate housing and flapper for sale?

WoW!! Thank you so much for those excellent pictures!! Hmm.. I will need to find a 280ZX wastegate housing... if at worst.. i could CUT the Z31 downpipe.. and possibly weld a pipe onto it. But that would be really dumb... hmm.. time to get some idea's...

Well.. I recently bought a Z31 water-cooled T3 turbo... and I noticed something different about the turbo from the 280ZX turbo. It is the same turbo, just the Z31 is water-cooled, HOWEVER, The 280ZX turbo has the wastegate flapper ON the turbo housing. The Z31 turbo has the wastegate flapper and housing ON the downpipe. That stumped me.... I don't know if I can fit the Z31 downpipe on my 280Z ... but I do need to figure something out. I can run an external wastegate, but I don't need one because I am not going to be running much HP or have the money to buy one. Can I use the stock Z31 downpipe? Should I cut it and modify it? What can I do about the wastegate? I dunno... I am stumped.. and clueless.. I need help!!

Well i finally got my water-cooled Z31 turbo in the mail!! Yay!! Anyway.. I needed to re-clock the turbo, because the intake outlet of the turbo was pointing straight up, so I re-clocked it, and I have to find a good place to bolt the waste-gate actuator on.. so I got an L-Bracket for that. I realize I may have to get a new down-pipe since the 300ZX downpipe won't fit..... but here are the pics... I DO have a question though.. how the heck do I bolt up my coolant lines to that bolt?? It's a hollow bolt with holes as shown in the picture... what kind of fitting do I use? (I searched for hours and hours and never found any good reference pics of the oil inlet and outlet fittings.. and what was the water-cooled section???) BLUE maybe you can use it as a reference So here's some :

Hey guys.. I recently bought a T3 Garrett turbocharger from a later Z31 turbo... and after looking at the turbo.. I need some help figuring out which parts are the inlets? and which are the outlets?? I THINK it is water-cooled... but I am not sure.. can you guys help me out? Is the OIL INLET correct? Is the OIL OUTLET correct? Is that center piece the water cooled inlet? or is it not watercooled?

hehe.. thanks I understand that But when I was researching Anti-Lag systems on turbo rally cars.. they use a idle air control valve, so when the throttle butterfly closes, the idle controle valve opens and lets extra air into the engine..... now as the throttle closes the timing is instantly retarted about 40 degress and that air from the Idle Air Valve mixes with the fuel and ignites while the exhuast valve is open... the resulting explosion with the exhuast valve open, spools the turbo while the throttle is closed... resulting in anti-lag =) http://www.valvers.com/downloads/antilag.pdf

Very good description Thank you very much mdbrandy... please excuse my dumb-ness So it's alot like todays Idle Air Control Valve when the throttle shuts right? Primarily for decleration though ??
