Opinions on those Clear Headlight Covers... for an Z
Well, I just got a set in from MotorSport Auto.... They supplied double sided foam tape, and extra screws in case I wanted to screw them in... with 6 mounting brakets. it came with crappy instructions, and a horribly "off" template which you could cut out and line up... which was crap. Holy $^!#... that took me about 4 hours to get them to match up right.. and the double sided tape they supplied was fairly weak, so I bought some stronger double sided foam tape at Home Depot. Anyway... you have to let the adhesive set for about 24 hours for it fully cure, but naturally after 24 hours, when I tried screwing in the covers, the tape popped of... It is a bitch to put them on, and the 3 metal brackets in each headlight are horribly ugly. Also after I thought it was sealed up correctly, it rained and it leaked... so I took everything off and tried it again. My overall opinion... they are a hassle to put on, have ugly brackets, are expensive and really don't show a huge difference with the front end. I will have pics soon.... but I am not to pleased with them.

Opinions.... Automatic tranny w/High Speed TQ or 5-speed?
Well.. I am absolutly going nuts, because I want my car to launch right off the line... but there are advantages and dis-advantages of my goal... Other than getting an different Differential.... Would you Z owners, rather drive an automatic transmission with an high stall speed torque conveter with lock-up? (Lock up=during high rpm's the engine and transmission lock together for a "direct connection") -or- Would you Z owners just drive an 5-speed transmission? *Here are my pros and cons... naturally I plan on someday getting an L28eT.... so an automatic would be great, since my shifts would be faster, and the turbo would hold boost during the automatics shifts.... but with automatic transmissions, you can't launch the car at any RPM's you wish to smoke the tires, give it hard take-off, you cant DriFt (unless you know how to use the Low (1st) gear and e-brake) and when you want to show off your turbo and blow-off valve you have to put in it neutral... i dunno 5-speeds you can control what RPM's you want to launch the car with, what RPM's you want during shifts, you can burn out, you can DOWNSHIFT which would be an advantage, you can control drifts much easier.... But you have to use your feet, and they can get tired during traffic, and your hand is always on the shifter, so you have an disadvantage with 1 hand on the wheels... and shifts are slower... and you loose boost druing shifts. What are everyone's opinions on this... 5-speed or Automatic (comfort) with high speed torque conveter

I lost to a Honda CRX...or did I?
maybe my car sucks.. Although I have an automatic transmission you would think an 280Z could kill an 5-speed Saturn with 4-doors and two people in it right? Wrong... she smoked me.. really bad... i want a 5-speed

280 with a 240
let me ask.. why? no body can tell 280Z from 240Z bumpers, unless you are a Z car nut... the 280Z bumpers may be large, but they look good, and keep it looking original

Opinions on those Clear Headlight Covers... for an Z
I used to love that pic, but now, the more I look at it... it tears me up inside.. I think it doesn't keep the Z's classic look.. just not a huge fan of it. But good luck with that! I say about maybe.... $900 maybe $1,200 for the molding, and nice projectors. EDit.. I take that back.. maybe $800.

What's needed for an R200 4.11 differential swap on an '78 280Z?
just to clarify.. in the U.S.A. all LSD R200's are from 87-89 300ZX correct? If I were to install, this LSD on my 280Z... what else what I need other than JUST the differential?

Good resource for center caps (knock-offs) for old wheels
wow... what do you know, they do have Western Center caps! Holy crap!!! Thanks man, I owe ya one

best engine swap (ka24de with turbo or a vg30et)
best swap you say? depends on how much money you have... your best bet, for power, and reliability and afforadability.... L28eT.... that's right an good old Turbo engine from an 280ZX. Direct bolt on, easiest swap you could do.. literally. If you want an KA24DE(T) or VG30ET to fit into your Z.... that's about $12,000 for the engine, parts, mods, and possibly install. If you dish out that kinda money swap in an RB26DETT from an Nissan Skyline.... almost 280wHP

Good resource for center caps (knock-offs) for old wheels
I would love to find out too... I have a set of Western Mags.. that they discontinued... your best bet would be to try MotorSport Auto... and check out their Z center caps... they have screw(bolt) on one's.. and 2 diff. size 3" push on type ones

Opinions on those Clear Headlight Covers... for an Z
Update: I called Tynan's Nissan here in Colorado, and I had the parts guy do a national search for the clear headlight covers for older Z cars. Nissan used to make them, and now they only have the "RIGHT" side covers! and they stopped making the LEFT side. But I got ahold of a guy in Colorado who is an huge Z car nut, and he said there is one company he can get them from for a total of $200! He would not tell me where he would get them, but he can get them for me. So if anyone is interested in spending $200 on some clear headlight covers with chrome trim, let me know and I can give you his phone number. Other than that... Nissan has seized production and no longer has left side covers

Bra or no bra? Latest pics...
damn your car is soo clean! Did you re-chrome the front and rear bumpers by any chance? In one of the pics, it looks absolutly brand new.. and is glaring into the pic... it's either extremly clean, or you did some "touch-ups" to the pics.. anyway... i would say, the bra looks good, but it looks better without it.

Exhuast setup: Twice Pipes and 3into2 header.. any setbacks???
a shop can make me an "custom twice pipes exhaust" for under $139.95? MSA charges $139.95 for the entire exhuast setup (except the headers) and it would be $14.34 for shipping. Maybe I'll call around

Exhuast setup: Twice Pipes and 3into2 header.. any setbacks???
hmm Is there any way I could get the twice pipes, and then when the glass-packs go out, I could use a normal muffler, like MagnaFLow for example? I thought that maybe muffler shop could do that.... I have read however, that usually the glass-packs will last about 2 years or so, before they need to be replaced. So i figured every 2 years or so, replace them. BTW, does MSA sell 2.25" exhaust? I could only find that cheap Targa exhuast with 2.25". I would love to get the Turbo Exhuast system, but I don't see that they made it in 2.25"... only 2.5"

Exhuast setup: Twice Pipes and 3into2 header.. any setbacks???

Exhuast setup: Twice Pipes and 3into2 header.. any setbacks???
Well, I am all ready to buy my long awaited exhuast "package" I wanted to purchase MSA 3 into 2 headers, as well as the Twice Pipes exhuast setup. However, I wanted to see if there were any drawbacks or "cons" about purchasing the twice pipes exhuast. What is so special about glass-pack mufflers, and on average how long do they keep their "tone"? MSA also never specified if the twice-pipes exhuast was 2.5" or 2.25", does anyone know off hand? Another thing .... how will may cat converter fit with this piping? Would I go w/o a cat converter? Finally.... is there any performance differences between 6 into 1 headers and 3 into 2 headers?
