I do not know, will find out soon when I have to go through that stupid bureaucracy drill. There is some sort of consensus that side lamps need to be WHITE and in the US are ORANGE. What difference does it make in the 21st Century ? None if you ask me but they seem very a**l retentive about it. Same with the speedometer that needs to be in Kilometers. I asked the guy what difference will make if I go above the limit of speed with a KMH speedometer or a Miles speedometer, would the fine be different ? The very well paid state employee could not answer. Useless.

I'm pretty sure that it is as close to the 1972 owners manual I guess the only difference is the fuel filler lid on page 24 that on yours is with a key lock and on mine is not. The green one you mentioned must be the one on top of this picture and the one below is the 72 owners manual.

My father was a panel beater and I grew up at the shop (my brother runs it now) I do not think he is using any filler. It looks like proper body work not what I saw in the USA which is basically filler based.

Nope because in 73 Datsun added the emission controls, changed carburetors, etc.

My 1972 240z in Switzerland but still driving around with my Antique Florida plates...?

Hi community. I have moved to Switzerland from Florida with my 240z and I'm in the middle of getting the homologation of the car to get Swiss License Plates (for the time being I'm still driving around with my Florida Antique blue plates, see attached pic). As part of the technical inspection they are requesting that I present the Owners Manual (which did not get when I bought my car). At http://www.xenonzcar.com/ they had the manual but the link is not working. Anyone who could help me to get a PDF version of it ? Many thanks.

Thanks Mike. Yes I agree with you, specially since you look at the Brochure for Accessories that Datsun gave the dealers, it only shows the front mats.

Ok i have made some more research and this is what I have found. AMCO was an American company that became very successful in the 60s by producing different aftermarket products for British Sport Cars. It disappeared somehow in the late 70s. A manufacturer of parts for Austin Healeys bought from them the original toolings to make the Austin's rubber mats exactly as AMCO made them in the 60-70s so I'm trying to contact that manufacturer to see if we can source the original AMCO toolings to reproduce the 240z rubber mats. If we cannot go that route, it will have to be the SCAN route. Will keep you all posted.

I might have found a forum member that has a set that can be scanned. Once we have that, we can get them rubber stamped. Will circulate costs etc. Thanks for the interest.

Hi all of you interested on this topic. I might have found a company that does 3D scanning and then stamps rubber mats. I will be contacting in the coming days to see if they would like to do this. Who could be interested on getting a set of this mats ?

I'm very proud of how this turned out. The car has some minor details here and there (two cracks on the dashboard due to sun exposure that really irritate me) but it is as close as to have a real 240z coming out of a very well done refreshment, I can say that I know that this car has nothing but very good years ahead of it. All questions and/or comments are welcomed.
