Engine work Due to the issue with the engine that the car came with (a 280) we did an engine swap with a proper 240z engine with all correct parts. The 240 engine was machined, new pistons and the whole lot. The only departure was the installation of an all alum Mishimoto radiator that fits right in.

Thanks to all that have shown interest and also in many ways helped with this project which started really bad when I bought a car that looked one way and was clearly something else as I have explained before. Here some pics of the work done over the last 6 months and the final pictures 2 weeks ago. Hope you enjoy it
  4. I might have found someone who could do it but currently I’m traveling with limited connection. As of Sunday I should be able to better follow up on this.
  5. With today’s technology a “replica” set could be done quickly and cheaply. I’m sure someone can do it out there...
  6. Bump!
  7. Are they still available ? Please PM
  8. Hi there, I'm looking for a pair of AMCO rubber floor mats. They were offered by the dealership back in the day and are black and have 240 Z on them. Thanks for letting me know if anyone has a pair for sale, attached a picture for reference.

Happy New Year guys, all the best to you and your loved ones for 2018! Thanks to all for the comments, great information and truly appreciated. I will be getting into working on the L24 engine, carbs and transmission in order to make sure that when they go into the car are running as expected. Any tips or previous posts that can help me with that? Many thanks again. Regards

Looking at it from a distance I do understand why people will swap engines and transmissions but it kills the originality of the car. Now that I’m getting into the 240 it seems that rims and hubcaps, engine trays, side mirrors will be “upgraded”

Hi thanks for your comments. Yes I’m a purist, this is not my first project and/or classic but first 240z. I understand all the comments in favor of the L28 but I like driving the car as intended by the manufacturer. About the L28 will be up for sale as soon as out of the 240 so let me know if interested I’m based in Miami, FL.

Yes, mine also has the white interior. Two extra questions: 1. Where can you get the 240z side decals (love those!) and the hub caps (which I got from eBay and I'm working on restoring) seem to be gray. Is that correct?

I'm putting a new clutch and will make sure that the clutch collar is the correct one. Found this pic online, what do you think?

Thanks for that, saw that article, the actual engine has P90 heads. But I'm scratching my head about the transmission... In case that the differential was not changed and is still the one that came with the car, do you think I will have to find a new drive shaft?

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and also ownership of a 240Z. Bought this car less than a month ago and the car is a 3/72 production. I have several questions that hope some of you could help me out with. The car came with a L28 engine (stamped in block are raised numbers reading F54) with what appears to be a 5 speed transmission (not yet know from which car....). I have purchased a correct L24 engine with E88 heads and a Type B 4 speed manual and will be swapping this soon but will highly appreciate your comments and help about this. Specially I cannot figure out if the differential has been also swapped is there any way to find out? Any tips on doing this change the right way? The former owner that did the swap of the L24 for the L28 kept the E88 intake manifold in order to retain the original L24 carburetors and air intake. As I get some answers will try to upload some pics. MANY THANKS for all your HELP!
