  1. You and me both, brother...you and me both. ?
  2. I’m in the same boat. I’d like to lower my ‘75Z a little now that it has 240Z bumpers, and I’m leaning towards keeping the stock springs. This topic is of great interest to me. ?
  3. I hope you succeed, dmuzial! I’m ready to buy, yesterday!
  4. This is a great thread. I want to replace all the rubber suspension parts on my ‘75 280Z, but so far, I’ve only replaced the f/r sway bar mounting bushings and their drop link bushings. Also replaced the compression rod bushings. I have the inner transverse link bushings to install soon, Still lots more to do to freshen up my suspension. (Rubber) parts lack of availability has been the major hold up.
  5. Looking forward to you adding 280Z mats to your line up. ?

SoCal covers a lot of territory, aongch. I live in south OC, and I’ve been happy taking my car to Nick at Saddleback Cars in Mission Viejo. 949.855.6700 www.saddlebackcars.com

Except for track day use. ? This rendering is definitely something I could get excited about. Thanks for posting it.

It’s little too over the top to suit my tastes, but I’m just an old fart. ?

I have a ‘75 280Z coupe. Will these mats fit?

Thanks for the info! I’ll reach out to WIO Motorsport about my interest in 280Z mats.

“The Guppies?” Isn’t that Vintage Dashes? I’d love to get a set of these mats for my 280Z.
  13. I’m not sure how mine compare as my springs are still in my car. I think I have the same number of turns, but since it’s loaded, I can’t tell about the spring length. I did just check my tire to wheel well gaps...~3” in the front and ~2.5” in the back. I’m a bit surprised they’re that much.
  14. It might be worthwhile for you to pull off your impact bumpers to see what your ride height would look like without them. The 240Z bumpers are pretty lightweight. My car seems to sit lower than yours, and It already has the 240Z bumpers installed. That surprises me.
  15. dmuzial, the wheel size shouldn’t matter for the fender-to-tire gap, assuming the the wheel/tire choices closely match the original tire circumference and maintain an accurate speedometer. I have been thinking about lowering my ‘75 280Z, but 2” is probably too aggressive for me. I’m pretty sure my Z will scrape going in/out of my driveway. I think 1” would be ideal for me, but I’m not sure what springs would do the job. Another consideration is the ride quality and handling. I’m currently clueless as to what to get. I hope you find the set-up that you’re looking for. ?
  16. The mask goes nicely with the clothes, color-wise. The clothes’ patterns clash with each other, so, I suggest eliminating one or both of them.

Ernesto, you might want to monitor ads on Craigslist in your area, and areas around the country where the climate isn't likely to encourage rust. What's your budget for purchasing a Z? Here in SoCal, you'll find a variety of Z's on the market, from fully restored to modded to project cars. Here's some links to give you an idea. Good luck with your search, Ernesto! https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/ctd/d/1971-datsun-240z/7095906785.html https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/cto/d/azusa-1971-datsun-240z-series-2-rust/7099858450.html https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lgb/cto/d/norwalk-1978-datsun-280z/7097398710.html https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/d/chatsworth-1977-datsun-280z/7096501325.html https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lgb/ctd/d/miami-1977-datsun-280z-l28-5-speed/7095974760.html https://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/ctd/d/palm-desert-1971-datsun-240z-coupe/7091258666.html https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/d/panorama-city-1973-datsun-240z/7090614184.html https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lgb/cto/d/compton-datsun-260z-1974/7089783088.html https://ventura.craigslist.org/cto/d/ventura-datsun-z/7100394910.html https://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/cto/d/san-diego-1977-datsun-280z/7090484618.html

Very cool, Mike! And only 230K USD. Where's my petty cash? ?
  22. I used EuroDat brackets, too. I had to shim the front bumper a little bit so it wasn’t quite as tight to the body, but that was easily done with some SS flat washers. Turned out well on my ‘75 280Z.
  23. This is mostly how I approached the interior renovation. However, I installed the dash after the insulation, carpets, plastic panels (console excluded), etc. I replaced the firewall insulation while I was installing insulation. Also, I replaced the rubber grommets in the floor and in the firewall before insulating.

Dave, great installation notes! I didn’t have an issue with your point number 2. No trimming to make the speedo/tach gauges fit. The fuel/ammeter hole was a bit loose, as you mentioned in number 3. I had the same experience with numbers 4 and 5. I replaced all my hoses when I did my dash installation, and they were snug.

Hi pakz. We’re dying to see pics of your new-to-you 260Z! ?
