  2. Well I couldn't pass this 78 up bro and yes I would love a 240 but I'm really not going to mess with this car that much, figured bumper swap and minor engine upgrades, maybe brakes and call it done. The only reason I began to look at carpet is because the heater core issue I had a few days ago. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  3. S30driver will the early carpet fit in the later models? Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  4. [emoji6][emoji106] I definitely understand the wife issue bro . Is the road noise really that terrible in these empty? Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  5. grannyknot I meant no disrespect bro just curious, I found the lack of carpet choices odd is all and with so many building hotrods I figured someone would offer some light weight choices. Jr Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  6. Fellas just wondering why so many choose to use sound dampening/Insulation and plush/heavy carpet in their Z's? I have recently aquired my 1st Z, a 1978 280 and I'm trying to lighten up my interior but to my surprise there are no lightweight carpet alternatives. I have owned many early Porsche 911's and most Porsche owners look for ways to lighten up there cars by removing all sound dampening material and replacing heavy plush carpeting with light weight alternatives or deleting the carpet all together. I understand the noise would increase in the cab but to be honest I would think most would love it! Hell I've even removed my a/c, factory radio/all speakers from my 1980 911SC! Who needs a radio when you can listen to all those glorious sounds from the engine. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

  10. Luckily I was able to bypass the heater all together, and drive her home Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  11. Finally had a day off and decided to take Oneil78 out for a drive! Drove a total of 69 miles and was doing about 105 MPH when I heard SWWWOOOSHHH........[emoji19] The heater core argggg! Yup antifreeze spewed into the cab on the passenger side of the car! Spent the rest of the afternoon stripping and drying

  14. What's the largest wheel and tire combo that can be ran without fender modification? Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  15. Also is anyone running stock steelies on their Z? I was thinking of powder coating the steelies black or grey and running open lug nuts. Would love to see pics of any Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  16. I've done this on a few impact bumpered 911's but it still leaves the weight.... Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  17. Hmm this is why I was thinking on leaving it. Figured it would look fine as long as the 240 bumper will still fit. Great car by the way! Jr Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  18. Well I guess I'm trying lighten / cleanup the car without modifying or removing stock body panels. [emoji19] I know I should just leave it stock but I hate those damn warts on the ends. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  19. Just hate how they stick out so far, I've already removed the additional weight from my 911 SC rear bumper. I'm planning to fill in holes and have it tucked about an 1inch oh also removed the turbo tail....love the clean lines. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  20. Not sure why it would it look all that odd Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  21. Question....can the 240z rear bumper be installed without removing gap guard from rear end? Im not going to remove but would like to install the smaller bumper. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  22. Weight reduction, however all parts will be retained. I'm just not a fan of those big bumpers Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
