Spindle Pins - How To Tell If They Are Worn?
Too bad you sold the parts you had. You could have used the extra rear suspension to go to town on then bolted it on. The only thing would have been the extra suspension was from a 260. Everything was the same except for the strut tubes. Let me know when you are ready for it and we will get together. There isn't much movement when the bushings are in good shape, the bushings will always look better than the stock washers. And yes, I know how you are and the tool will be ready for you. ;-)

Shifter for 280Z 5-Speed?
all these shifters will fit, but most from a 280z 5 spd has a shorter pivot length. The longer pivot length will work but I recommend lightly hitting certain areas with a grinder so the longer pivot length will clear the shift rod.

Spindle Pins - How To Tell If They Are Worn?
Tim, it probably isn't necessary to replace the spindle pin bushings, With the nuts torqued to specs, if the pins and bushings are still tight, then there isn't a need. but if you do, you know how to get a hold of me for the spindle pin tool. Do not try and hammer them out if you want to reuse the pins. You may get them out undamaged except for a little mushrooming of the threads, but just to make sure the tool works well, you have seen it.

Shifter Question
Yes it will fit. Check my pic gallery for pics of different shift levers. You might have to do a little grinding where the longer lever goes into the shift rod. The pics show just how little might need to be taken off. **edit** I don't see the pic in this gallery, but it is in my hybridz gallery.

Z Car Club of Colorado track day
We are hosting another ZCCC track day at our new track High Plains Raceway this Saturday sept 11th. The z car club of colorado is hosting another track day at High Plains Raceway on Saturday sept 11th. This is just a reminder, if you're curious about the track and might be interested in tracking your car in the future come out to HPR. The club doesn't race wheel to wheel and only limited passing is allowed on designated areas on the track. We want everyone to be able to drive their car home after the day without any body work being needed. Don't be shy about asking for rides. Just wear long cotton pants, closed toed shoes, long sleeve cotton shirt, and if you have one bring a snell rated helmet. This is only for when you go on the track. www.zccc.org www.highplainsraceway.com Darrel

This baffles me to no end
You say you run 20-50 because the manual says to, it ALSO says you can run 10-30 or 10-40 at those temps. So why run 20-50 when 10-30 0r 10-40 can do? Since it does get up to 120, then i would run the 10-40. Even though I'm in denver, I run 10-30 year round in all my vehicles.

started gutting my 260 today - PICS!
door hinge bushings for less than half of what the ebay bushings run. 38377 is one part number, another has 4 assorted hinge bushings 2 sets of which will work. I can't think of the part number for that set.

Looking for GOOD after-market EFI
su-- stock carbs that came on the 240z and about pulling the trigger, not the cost as the megasquirt system is fairly cheap, it's the learning involved in a build it yourself project and learning to tune etc that has me lagging behind.

Looking for GOOD after-market EFI
While I haven't pulled the trigger yet, here is one option while still keeping a stock look with mods using su carb bodies. You could either use his computer system or run his adapters with megasquirt. http://pattonmachine.com/

you need to drive it more. A couple weeks ago we had a group of about 19 cars take 9 mtn passes in one day and ended up in ft collins. But we didn't have a 280zx. We had 10 s30's, one z32, a couple of 350z, 370 etc.

Z Car Club of Colorado
Can you remember any of the other members(cars) names in the pic? Read the history of High Plains raceway on the web site. You will see that the club is part owner of the track. We got in when we joined 12 other clubs and bought the lease at 2nd creek. You'll need to plan a vacation out here during one of our track days or maybe if we host another z convention in the future. We also had our own little iron butt mtn pass challenge 2 weeks ago. 9 mtn passes while crossing the divide 6 times. Started with Kenosha pass and ending at Cameron pass near ft collins. 19 car s total with 10 of them being s30's. this was taken on Berthoud pass. This was taken by 240zman

Nebraska,,,
The nebraska z club is hosting the widwest z fest this year, Last year the z car club of colorado hosted it and our track event was at our new track. Here' are the details for those interested. http://WWW.MIDWESTZFEST.COM from the post: This event is open to all years of Nissan Z, Nissan 240SX, Infiniti G Series, and Nissan GTR. I really hope to have a great turnout for this event. In 2007 Midwest Z Fest was the biggest gathering of Z/G cars Nebraska had ever seen with about 60 cars. I know there was just a National NICO event recently held here that it doesn't sound like very many local people went to, I would really like to make sure that all the local community knows about this event and has the assurance that this event will be a great time with fun people. Z Cars of Nebraska is about 55 members strong right now with a plethora of different years of Z/Gs and all varying ages and modifications to their cars, I know most of the Z community involved with the club is aware of this event. I want to make sure the word gets out to those who are not a part of our club, or who did not know there was such a club in Nebraska. Labor Day Weekend-Midwest Z Fest – “Rumble In The Plains” Friday September 3rd 7:00 AM for a drivers meeting and track goes hot by 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. The Z Fest kicks off with Track day at Mid America Motorplex (MAM) located south of Omaha on I-29. During the day you can put yourself and your car through its paces on the approximately 2.24 miles of track that’s wide enough to run three city buses side by side around. This is NOT racing but a high speed driving experience. The fee is only $100 for the whole day!! Later that evening is drag racing at the adjacent MAM drag strip, the fee is only $10. Saturday, September 4th Will be the car show at Carter Lake located just north of downtown Omaha approximately less than three miles from the host hotel. This setting should provide a great backdrop to show your cars off with and a huge gazebo is available to provide shade. (Please bring your portable folding chairs) From 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM will be the awards banquet at Just in Thyme restaurant. And later that evening will be bottle service to a designated club downtown in the historic “Old Market”. Sunday, September 5th Will be the cruise through the scenic Loess Hills located North of Council Bluffs Iowa. Your evening is free to relax or head home if you wish. Monday, September 6th (labor Day) Will be the “drag your tired body’s home” day. http://www.zcarsofnebraska.com/galle...FestOmaha2007/ Here is the gallery link on the Z Cars Site and below are some highlight pictures of the 2007 Midwest Z Fest that was held in Omaha.

New To The Z World........
Don't assume it will need a total rebuild. Get it running first after replacing all fuel lines, brake lines and coolant hoses.
