Headed to Denver
bump There might be a change in locations. The vintage club is going to have an informational meeting about the new track on the 29th. I believe they will have it at the red lion hotel by the stadium. I think it starts at 6pm, but will get better information as I find out more.

HIGH PLAINS RACEWAY, CO updates
The zoning change passed by a 5-0 vote. The Use by Special Review application has been submitted. Once that is approved we close on the land. So far we have raised $140K from 160 people. This track is going to be owned and operated by the member clubs. www.highplainsraceway.com

Headed to Denver
D&B has the parking garage so we could probably meet on the top floor before going in. Art, I can post this on the my350z site to see if there might be any interest. I'm not sure if D&D takes reservations, if they do we'll have to get a head count.

Headed to Denver
I don't see a problem with that art. I doubt anyone will get drunk and/or beligerant. I was just kidding about hooters. It would be nice to see your wife and daughter again. D&B has plenty of games to play. Just need to firm up the time.

Headed to Denver
Monday the 27th through wednesday the 29th. Check schedules so we can narrow it down. I am open for any of those days. I am not familiar with any other places in the central area to meet up except dave and busters. If anyone else does know, maybe in the area of daniels sticky buns would work too. 7:30-8pm, nothing too late.

Headed to Denver
I have sweaty buns, maybe hooters is another place(over-rated) :-D I would be leaning toward an evening, cethern will have to check his schedule as he works on some evenings.

What part of Denver will you be staying? I don't think you're just coming here to watch the rockies or broncos. What else did you have planned for your time here? Rocky mtn nat'l park, pikes peak, mt evans. These are all nice day long drives. Maybe one evening we can get a small group together after you get done sightseeing. It's always a challenge if it isn't a track day. ;-)

Headed to Denver
Here's the calender from the local z club. Not much going on at the end of the month. Unless you like wine tours. The show-n-shine is more of a collection of local car people, not a z only show. I haven't been to this one so I'm not sure how many usually show up. http://www.zccc.org/webcalendar/month.php We have our monthly meetings the first wednesday of every month at a restaurant near mile high stadium. Once you get your dates set let us know and I can see how many people might be around to meet up for a pepsi. cether(eric), 240zman(daniel), pop's Z(mike) There are others, maybe they can post and we can get a date set up that is convenient.

Summer 07 issue of Nissan Sport
I have all the issues related to z cars from the defunct z car mag, sportz and now nissan sport(cept for the current issue, still waiting). z car mag went under due to lack of subscribers mostly. When sportz came out i had no second thoughts about subscribing with them. When my renewal comes up for nissan sport i will renew that as well. There are no other magazines that have consistant articles for z cars. I may not follow the build up of any thing other than the s30 and the s130, but at least there is a quality magazine out there that does. p.s. art, am I included in the blog about people that have helped out with your 240z project car? ;-)

ebay 240 #797
considering what the passenger door hinge looks like, i wonder how much "surface" rust there is on the rest of the car. let alone what the undercoating might be covering up. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-Datsun-240Z-797_W0QQitemZ330148598459QQihZ014QQcategoryZ6187QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Just something to check before buying it at even the low buy it now price.

Piston clearance problem. need help!
definitely get it away from that mechanic. I believe the n47 block all had dished pistons. It was the f54 block from non turbo 280zx '81-83 that had flat top pistons. Obviously he is not the datsun mechanic he led you to believe. www.carfiche.com and download the factory service manual for your '77. Fix/replace/adjust your throttle valve switch Get some seafoam, read the directions. What is the fuel pressure? You can find what is stock in the factory service manual you just downloaded.

Short throw
It's all good, I just thought it would be funny to throw that in. ;-) If you do get a chance to check the pics I have in my gallery you can see what you can do to modify both the late 5 spd tranny and shift lever to make a short throw. Daniel has his transmission drilled for a short throw, but unforunately his rebuilder drilled it too small for the pin. Maybe next time he drops the tranny he can drill it out and see what it will be like having a short throw on the track.

Sold the Z3, 240z resto is back on track...
bmw club here in colorado is really aggravating. Especially when it comes to getting behind the new track. They have a lot of track events, driving schools and autox's but don't want to put in the $8k for a new track which they will be part owners of. Hopefully, they will get some board members that are track enthusiasts and get behind the new track. www.highplainsraceway.com It's a long story, hopefully it will all work out and we can have a track by '08
