  1. A new amateur road course for colorado is getting close. The county planning board must have approved the zoning change to allow amateur motorsports. Now the commissioners will put their rubber stamp to allow the change. Once that happens the fund raising campaign will begin. News release from Colorado Amateur Motorsports Associates. http://www.coloradoscca.org/HighPlains_PressRelease.pdf
  2. There are 2 types of speed/solo bleeders. speed bleeders-- http://www.classicperform.com/speed-bleeder/speed-bleeder.htm earls solo-bleed-- http://www.mpsracing.com/products/Earls/Solo-Bleed.asp I prefer the solo-bleed. I'm sure there's pluses and minuses for either one.
  3. I used a jar with a plastic lid. Use a bench or a stool so you can keep an eye on the hose for any bubbles. I use the mity vac to siphon all the old fluid out of the reservoirs.
  4. COPS---"Nobody has a right to hit my sister if they aren't married to her."
  5. I used a '88 maxima auto handle on mine, of course I have the 4 spd auto in my 280zxt. Cut to length then drill and tap for the new mounting screws. But since you're going to be going with a 5 spd you may as well suffer with the one you already have. JMO
  6. Has it already been run? I haven't seen any updates or pics.
  7. new listing-- http://denver.craigslist.org/car/333907844.html
  8. There are a few out there. On the east coast is a 9 sec car with corvette rear suspension. Greg, not sure of his last name.
  9. You could try this too. http://www.cybersalt.org/cl_images/1zzzzya/cars/carbackfire.jpg but watch out for the backfire.
  10. listing has been deleted, so hopefully we will have an answer from the man himself if he sold it or not. I guess I should get the z club member directory downloaded so I can call him.

  12. If you don't have a dremel type tool, put the phillips head screws back in and tighten. This will relieve the pressure on the headless screws. With a pair of wire cutters(diagonal cutters, dikes) cut into the soft headless screw enough to get a bite on them and start turning them out. The screws are soft so the wire cutters will easily gouge the head. With the headless screws out, then you can take the phillips screws out.
  13. Here is one I put in my zxt after I swapped in a 4 spd auto. The shifter knob came out of an '88 maxima. It required shortening and drilling for the new mounting screws. I suppose since you don't have a 4 spd auto you could use the OD button for a nawwss set up. ;-) http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c301/dlh2460/280zxt/ftm005.jpg
  14. That's the way new tracks are getting built. Country club style. There's a couple of proposed tracks like that attempting to go up in eastern colorado. http://genoamotorsports.com/ The amatuer clubs are attempting to get our own track built 40 mile east of denver. SCCA, PCA, MRA(motorclycle roadracing assoc), RMVR(vintage racing), MCCA(multi car club assoc--8 clubs, bmw, viper, cobra, audi, mercedes, alpha, lotus and z club.) We're getting closer, it will be a barebones track. Still waiting for all the dotted I's and crossed t's. Hopefully by '08 http://www.camplaps.org/ After our local road course closed in '05 we have had to either drive 120 miles or drive on a tri-oval track(boring).
  15. Did you drain the oil from the tranny and were there any bearing cage pieces caught in the magnet? If you have an extra transmission put that one in and break into the old one.
  16. you can download a factory service manual on www.carfiche.com. They change the availability for down load every hour, so be patient. Things to keep in mind, keep all connections clean and put dialectric grease on them. Corrosion is the enemy of old electrics. Other than that, these cars are easy and fun to work on. welcome to the board.
  17. The 750# rated has 3 wheels. The 1K# one has 4 wheels and is more stable if rolling it around. The 3rd one is overkill and the legs branch out and may impede foot roo and take up floor space. I have the 1K# 4 wheel engine stand.
  18. My '73 sat for 14 yrs and had a build up of varnish in the tank. The electric pump wouldn't work untill I took it out and hooked it up to a battery. I replaced the filter that was in it and haven't had a problem since. Except when i unplug the pump near the pass floorboard. ;-) The bottom of the pump has a cap that twists off and exposes the filter.
  19. Welcome to the forum. The stock electrical pump has a cartridge type filter. Chances are you will have to order one of those. The mechanical pump in my 73 with 2.8 couldn't keep up while on the track. I also put another filter between the electrical pump and the tank. Do you still have the ebay page for the car?
  20. black on orange vs white on orange. It's your car, but to me the black on orange looks better. White would look better on darker colored cars.
  21. Here is the site that shows the nissan 5 spd differences. http://www.geocities.com/inlinestroker/ For more differences check out my photo gallery here.
