  1. If you still have the old washer, you can renew it. hit it with a torch and let it cool down.
  2. Do NOT drain the fluid before making sure you can fill it back up through the fill hole. Open the fill plug first.
  3. I always thought it was the TV remote and microwave popcorn. I drove a delorian once. But I kept hitting my head when closing the door. Those who have driven one knows what i am talking about.
  4. Get a new electric fuel pump filter, then put another filter before the electric fuel pump. The electric pump has a cartridge type filter, get a couple of those, because even with a filter before the electric pump there will be some dirt getting past it eventually. While running that see how long it takes for the filter before the electric pump to get clogged up. While you are down there, check the condition of all the fuel hoses in the back. Take the inspection panel that is in the wheel well to check where the fuel leak is. If dropping the tank is warranted, then make sure you have all the hoses ready to go in.
  5. That could very well be it. ps, can I have your engine bay?
  6. Is it a stock electric fuel pump? If so have you checked the filter inside of the electric fuel pump?
  7. welcome, and we need pics of both. btw, vintage pics would be nice too since most of pics we see are present pics.
  8. sounds like floats might be stuck after sitting for 3 months.
  9. Yeah, we're all glad it didn't get any worse. And more importantly you found what caused it.
  10. Do you have a registration form without having to actually register online?
  11. Is this for active members or the whole group? The z car club of colorado has membership points. In order to be considered an active member, you have to accumulate 15 points. We have a set amount to spend per active member. In the past we have had, pen sets, mugs, backpacks, duffle bags, shirts etc. The amount I think has been about $35/ active member. If you want it for each member, then divide by the number of members to see what you can get for that amount. We also have an annual picnic/bbq. We used to have it catered, but that hasn't happened for a few yrs, now only the club supplies the hamburger/hotdogs/brats and drinks. The ZCCC was formed in 1983.
  12. You can use a pressure washer, try to clean it out as best you can at home, then take it to the car wash. You might not have baffles like the 240, so you should be able to clean it. If it's still bad after you clean it, then take it to the rad shop. I took mine to a car wash and was able to flush all the varnish out. There might still be a little bit behind the baffle on my 240, but not enough that clogs the filter every year.
  13. A friend of mine welded the tank I got for the 620. His procedure was to fill it up with water, then after draining and refilling he would set a match to it. But I wouldn't do it if you haven't done it before. Then you can look it up on the web and read a lot of different ways, one is using exhaust from a running car, but then you would want to make sure that car isn't running overly rich. So best thing to do is let a professional handle it.
  14. ya don't have to rub it in. :-PPPPPPPP
  15. ok Manny. I'm just making it sound harder than it really is.
  16. I must have had it confused with the l20 and l16 4 cylinders.
  17. 2.8 is taller than the 2.4. *******I stand corrected, see below********
  18. It depends on the cog carrier. If manny gets a 5 spd from a late 280zx then he just needs to keep the carrier with it's white gear. It "should" already have the white cog. If he just gets the cog from courtesy nissan, he can replace the cog that is in the stock 4 spd with the white one. If he get s 5 spd without a spdo carrier then he can use his stock 4 spd carrier with the white cog and cut a slot on the opposite side and turn the carrier 180 deg. ok I just confused myself, hopefully you can make sense what i wrote.
  19. I bought a tank for my 620 and had it welded shut, no problems with it. It was the rest of the tank that needed worked on. The forklift put a few nice dents in it. With kenny's help I got it fairly straight.
  20. amc_oldsarg(?) wrapped his stock steering wheel in leather and looked darn good. http://www.laughbaum.com/zCar/Gallery/igallery.asp?d=\2007-09-18_steering_wheel\
  21. The salvage yard drilled the tank out to drain(required by their rules). If the inside of the tank is rust free, grab it. If the 5 spd still had the shift lever get it. It may have the shorter pivot point that work better with a late 5 spd.
  22. In before the lock. Sure he has sold a lot of stuff and have a satisfactory rating, just beware of what you buy. ground off identifying marks of what is supposedly diesel cranks etc is just one thing to look for.
