Great day for a drive/pick and pull score
I bought a tank for my 620 and had it welded shut, no problems with it. It was the rest of the tank that needed worked on. The forklift put a few nice dents in it. With kenny's help I got it fairly straight.

Great day for a drive/pick and pull score
The salvage yard drilled the tank out to drain(required by their rules). If the inside of the tank is rust free, grab it. If the 5 spd still had the shift lever get it. It may have the shorter pivot point that work better with a late 5 spd.

turbo motor on ebay
In before the lock. Sure he has sold a lot of stuff and have a satisfactory rating, just beware of what you buy. ground off identifying marks of what is supposedly diesel cranks etc is just one thing to look for.

Synchromesh worn out?
If you have some extra head bolts, cut them down and thread a couple in the engine block and use as alignment dowels while reinstalling the tranny.

help with moustache bar stoppers
The left ones in both pics are the top, the upper right is the bottom, the lower right came from a urethane kit. The drawing that nissanman posted is the front differential mount. Personally, i would go with urethane kit all the way around.

That's the front differential mount.

Fuel Tank Removal "How To"
sure you can do it. I did it myself, but I used a floor jack as an extra hand holding up the tank.

FUEL FILTER PICTURES!!! bad bad bad
Did it run better when you first replaced the filter?

fuel filter g4143 or g3359?
The '73 had 2 fuel pumps. One mechanical and the other electric. Get under the back and you should see it.

fuel filter g4143 or g3359?
It will need 2 fuel filters, one up by the engine and one inside the electric fuel pump at the back by the tank. The one in the electric pump is a canister type. The one for the 280 is for high pressure, since you still have carbs you don't use the 280z filter.

You can still get them at courtesy nissan or any dealer. Hopefully they will match courtesy's price. About $45.

240Z #194 Project Car
Now back to the car in question. Is it worth it in it's current state? Completely disassembled top to bottom, mechanically and none of the body work done? Even with the low vin number? I think he's asking 5x's more than what anyone would be willing to pay.

240Z #194 Project Car
It's not Steve's car, you can tell he has the z bug when he's constantly searching ebay and classifieds for yet another z car. It will never get out of his system. ;-)

Trailer hitch
The 280z had one that bolted to the bumper brackets and had another bracket going over the top of the gas tank bolting the body. If I were to put a hitch on the 240, it would be like the one I mentioned in the earlier post. The trailer would be just big enough to have a set of tires and misc tools etc for a long trip or even going to salvage yards. I only posted what I have seen, but not really recommended.

Trailer hitch
If it's the one I have seen, it bolts to the bumper and the rear valance. As you know the metal on the rear valance isn't much. I have seen one. The guy has a piece of angle iron going from bumper bracket to bracket bolted to the body, then the bumper. Then he has a piece that is bolted to the angle iron and that attaches to the rear crossmember for the diffy. He even towed an mg on a 1 axle trailer for a short distance.

Is This '78 Black Pearl Worth Saving
I think it deserves a closer inspection. If that is the original paint it looks pretty solid. less than $200 to get the brakes and tuneup to at least get it to be a daily driver. Then you have a DD for only $700. Then you can inspect it better for more rust that might be hiding under the tar matting.

R180 vs. R200 differential in a 1973 240
The '73 should also have an electric pump back by the tank. It has a filter inside.

My first track day
cool. That will work, at least for tomorrow.

My first track day
You can get rolls of it at walmart. Not sure what it's called. It's not in the tool area, more like bed and bath I think.

My first track day
Before getting a new seat, try some of the stuff you use in the drawers of your tool chest. That will keep your butt from sliding around, then you'll have to deal with your upper body from going side to side. Just a cheap simple trick before you go with racing seats. Track is addictive. So what if you're not as fast or quick as the other cars, you still have a lot of fun. It is also great fun if you find someone that is close to you and your car and take turns playing follow the leader.

They still had patrols with the l28 with carbs didn't they?

Fuel pump attachment,What is it ??
There isn't anything but the check valve attached to the fuel pump. Stock nissan check valve is $, but a generic bosche check valve is much less. The fuel damper is mounted away from the pump(22675). It dampens the pulses from the fuel pump.

Fuel pump attachment,What is it ??
link doesn't work for me, but anything attached to the electric pump would most likely be a check valve. Used to keep pressure in the fuel line.
