  1. and locked doors during zucchini harvest.
  2. with the bushings out and the strut tube out of the way the scissor jack can then be placed to spread the lower control arm apart.
  3. Make it easier on yourself, read my post above.
  4. Take your car jack and spread the lower control arm about a 1/4" maybe a little less, it will spring back but it will give you enough room to install the bushings.
  5. This one looks interesting. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008CP7STQ?psc=1 The first one you showed is designed to have the cam and cam towers removed.
  6. not threaded, drop the tank and get it repaired.
  7. 7 pin connector, get as much of the wiring as you can in case the wires on the z are corroded further up the insulation.
  8. Courtesy nissan had them sold as a set(brake, clutch, accell and foot rest) on their web site. But now they don't show anything older than '84. Might have been about $16 for the set.
  9. Audi and or saab. Just check the number of pins.
  10. He sold a "stroker Kit" to someone on zcar years ago. The guy found out it was a stock crankshaft with the identifying marks ground off. Never get anything mechanical from him, all he probably does is wash the grease off and paint it.
  11. been there done that. 2+2/turbo companion flanges, used the 240z dust shields. I went back to the stock u joint set up. The thought I had was less maintenance hassle with the cv/tripod set up. Let me know how it goes.
  12. hybridz has a how to in their archives with pics. Although I would advise against using this particular mod. boots will fail early, won't be able to change axles out without having to pull the spindle pin, to install you have to pull the spindle pin. You can't compress them enough to install without pulling the spindle pin or lower control arm.
  13. David Irwins plug and play harnesses are the best around. Make sure to get the parking light harness too, as that is the one that usually melts the fuse block. I dealt with David directly. I do have a funny story. After putting the headlight harness in, I didn't see a difference. I pulled up to a wall and switched from bright to dim and back again. One headlight was on brights, the other was on low beam. When Dave put it together he switched the wires on the left side. Simple fix by swapping the wires around and as good as new. Told Dave after I fixed it and he was really apologetic. Thanked me for not throwing a fit about it. I just thought it was funny. The thousands he has made up, I'm sure there might be a few that had the wires crossed. Headlight harness- all under the hood work Parking light harness-- one wire fished through the firewall and snaked though the dash to the steering column bolts.
  14. Randy hates it when you have an R in his last name.
  15. Had an incredible ride in an incredible car with an incredible driver. GTR, Randy Pobst and me. I'll be walking funny for a few days. z car club fun run at High Pains Raceway near Denver.
  16. It wasn't too difficult. You could probably squirt some lubricant and maybe even use a heat gun. Try the lubricant first. The reason I did this, the socket was rusted pretty bad. Since the holder was never in direct sunlight, it has held up well after 40 yrs.
  17. Just got done reading the thread. Great read. The car really had everyone fooled at the show and shine last month. Almost fooled me when i saw the brackets for the 280z front signals. You did a great job on the build. The car looks great. Are you going to the cussler collection tomorrow?
  18. old post, but I think he was concerned about the rear struts and bearings.
  19. a/c tensioner tip--- the nut on the pulley is the lock nut. 14mm wrench then you can loosen the belt.
  20. I don't use the lock pin. I would suggest putting silicone as a plug, making sure it doesn't interfere once set up with the pin. I did swap out struts since I put new bushings in and they slid in and out easier than the first time I pulled the pins. I have run numerous track days and have had no problems. I would suggest having parts you can replace rather than welded together.

    S30 Seats?

Old thread, but I used early 280zx high back seats to replace the low back seats for my '82. They fit me much better. Obviously a direct bolt in.
  22. This! You can reuse the plastic lock. There new socket may be a little small, but you can use tape or even better shrink tubing if you can something that will fit around the new socket. Don't forget to solder on the ground wire before shrink tubing.
  23. just order an OEM mount and the RT mount with the snubber
