Picked this up in Hong Kong last week. May not have any classic Z projects but still collect the die cast.

Nice one. You know what company made it? Yeah, silver is a good investment as long as you can get it somewhat close to the current "Spot" value. I used to collect silver flake from x-ray film processing solution. My boss at a large veterinary clinic did not care. Instead of taking cash for it I would get .999 1 oz. silver bars. Silver was around $6 an ounce at the time.

Anyone get one of these from Courtesy Parts? I bought this one off their website years ago. It came in a nice little display case with a certificate of authenticity from Liberty Mint saying it was .999 silver. Last I looked silver is above $39 per ounce.
  6. I know the place in Rancho Cordova. He is in business to make money. Nothing wrong with that. Lesson learned? If someone wants something out of their yard, figure out a way to get the cash or tell another Z enthusiast about it.
  7. Sorry, Parker and I cannot make it. Have to work early tomorrow and can't escape.
  8. Hey Rob, your wife coming this time? Parker and I will be there with the 300ZX.

Same California plate, 755DAR. The base plate says it is a 1971 Datsun 240Z. The 300ZX is a Tamiya model kit I brought back from Hong Kong last month. Something else I picked up in Hong Kong, a 1/58 scale Remote Control 240ZG. It even has working headlights.

Even when you do not have a Z anymore, you still keep an eye out for them. Yesterday I was in Sam's Club and saw this die cast Maistro. Of course I had to buy it for $11.88.
  11. Her name is Parker. We both had a good time.
  12. Those were over a short period to. There were many more before I thought about collecting VIN tags. The online registry is what got me collecting the tags.
  13. Yes that was me pulling them off the junkyard cars. I thought adding them to the spreadsheet was a good idea to let people know what happened to all those Z's. Right now I am Z less except for my wife's 91 300ZX. So I do not hit the sites to much. I tried several times to get my name changed here from Nota280 to Stealth-Z but the requests went unanswered. I originally chose Nota280 because I had a 78 2+2 Fairlady Z.

As you are not knowing the value of the parts, selling them individually will definitely stress you out. The only one that will make money off the stuff is either Grey Hound, FedEX, USPS, or UPS!

Generally the answer is "No" on the visual unless it has a EO order number for the header. Recently I went through this with my 76 Fairlady Z. It had a header with a fitting modified to go to the EGR. The smog shop did not accept it. After putting on a stock exhaust setup I found a conversion diagram showing what was done on mine to be legal. Now I do not know how much of a fight it would have been with the shop over that diagram. To late now because it has a stock exhaust manifold. My Z was run through a Federalization and emissions process to get it registered in the U.S. and California.
