  1. Actually I have an idea about creating the whole assembly as a 9 piece setup. The lower piece and bumper would have tabs to bolt together. Most likely the pieces arriving will end up being sacrificed to make good molds. This is just a side line project for my own Z at the moment. There are no real plans to mass produce them. Keeping the mold is so just in case something happens I could re-create it in the future. My mentor is a perfectionist and so am I. Time and the cost of materials may make it an expensive venture.
  2. In a few weeks I will know the quality of that G Nose you are showing photos of. Shipping is rediculous on the bumper and lower piece. So I am having those pieces cut in half. It is supposed to be made from a mold taken directly off an original G Nose. If the quality is good I will pull a mold off of it.
  3. Look in the Galleries section of the site. Here is an excellent example of an original G Nose setup.
  4. Bryan's DOHC head may have a chance of being produced in small numbers. This is the one from Zcar you referenced right? http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=120659

I was curious and went ahead and bid on it. Of course someone sniped it at 4 seconds left :ninja:. Now it will continue to be a mystery unless it was someone on this board.

Mind if I ask, how much was it for the reconditioning from zclocks? I have 2 of the calender clocks and they could use a good check up.

Added my other 3 to the list. No offence taken about S31's being left out.

Just added 14 Z's. Unfortunetly they are all known deceased. Will add my remaining 3 once I collect some numbers. How about a column for S31's?

  14. Looks well cared for. As for the key job, was someone upset about not getting her? It may be the angle of the photo, but the fuzable links may need some attention.
  15. Looks nice...:classic:

I agree with your statements. One still needs to keep an open mind and not base facts on what others have said without better research. Funny that I seem to have it's twin near by. VIN HLS30202732 on this one indicates it was made before his. http://www.fairladyzg.com/75280z.htm

I am embarrassed to have this sort of description in my area. Some highlights from the auction... Last year of the coupe before Nissan went with the 2+2? Kill switch on the fuel pump? Thief Did not get far? Custom Wheels? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300127473449&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:us
  19. I agree with that. Great movie but the 1986 animated movie did have more of a story line and as you say "Heart and Soul". Not many remember the animated theater movie. In the TV series I do not remember any of them ever being killed. The animated movie had no quams killing off most of the first generation it seemed. Over 20 years and I still remember that? :tapemouth Let me dust off the old VHS tapes and player.
  20. Yikes! Is this place anywhere near Cool? That is where the 75 was located. Also, I just got back from DMV. Registration & Transfer fee's were $103.00. Still have to take it in for VIN verification before they issue plates and registration. No bad for a car last registered in 1992. Rio Linda is not the town it used to be. What a shame. Nice wrecking yards years ago.
  21. Here is the CA DMV site to check smog history. http://www.smogcheck.ca.gov/VEHTESTS/PUBTSTQRY.ASPX They most likely do not have data from 1995. My 75 is not even in the system. Going to DMV today to get a moving permit so I can have them verify the VIN and get it registered again.
  22. You take care of yours. You know the maintenance history. Very commendable that you do take care of yours here in California. Maybe we need to define the word "Smoke". My 2006 Ford Ranger pickup smokes a bit on start up. On a cold morning it will "Smoke" lightly for about 5 -10 minutes before becoming clear.
  23. The fuel injected Z's smoke a bit on startup because they are set up to run rich. My 78 blows white smoke for a few minutes after startup. Once the operating temperature rises the smoke stops. The FI systems are not to hard to work on once you get the basics down. In my area there are a lot of S30's and S130's parked for failing smog. The 75 I have now was parked since 1992 for failing smog. Fortunetly I do not have to deal with emissions testing on it for registration. It is sad to go into the wrecking yard here and see at least 6 decent bodied 280Z's being parted out. There is a "Green" painted 78 280 in Pick-N-Pull right now with an actual paint code of 638. The only thing cost effective on these cars to me is that I can do the work myself.
  24. Not meaning to rain on the parade... but, is the owner providing a CA smog certificate with the sale? The reason I mention this is because of the reference to the AFM adjustment. My 78 280Z had a problem passing CA emissions due to the AFM being defective. It ran fine but the test readings came back as a gross polluter. Sounds like the one you found was well cared for though. Are you in the Northern California area?
