  1. Hi Guys, Anybody knows what u call this thing? There are two of them one on the red wire and one on yellow going to the stereo. My Stereo stopped working all together and i saw one fuse fell out due to loose holder. The other is totally damaged. What u call these? Also, the fuse says 250v 3A? are the fuses both same as i misplaced one πŸ™‚ why does it says 250v?
  2. There was a plate holding the rubber tube to the modulator. Once I took that off there was a decent clearance if not ideal. Placed a new modulator and my trans fluid somehow was at L, topped it off as well with a qrz. So far it is behaving better now at low and high rpm range in terms of shifting now.
  3. Yeah let me find a smaller one tomorrow. Problem is it is right next to the exhaust pipe and there is hardly any room. Also, I think it does explain possibly some smoke i sometimes see in the exhaust at starting. The vacuum hose at the manifold has transmission oil. So the modulator is definitely gone.
  4. That part I know. How do u get it out? The exposed end is all round and there is no way any socket wrench will work. Also when u put a new one is it just hand tight?
  5. Hi Guys, I am speechless where the modulator is located in the 77 280z. Mine is automatic. What is the best way to get this thing out? Also, seems like this is a threaded modulator but on the other end of the modulator there is no way to tighten it? its all around all over!!!
  6. Guys, mine has two belts as I have AC. Are there any recommendations for belt type size? Oriellys has two versions: Master pro: top width 12mm, length 905mm, and angle 36 degree Gates: top width 15 mm, length 926 mm and angle 40 degree I think the top width and angle matters more. Which one should I pick?
  7. Decided to NOT use any RTV and things look very good without it. I read a lot of threads where people broke bolt heads and some just over tightening the screw in aluminum and damaging the threads, decided to just hand tight and keep it checked. Thats the safest way i think.
  8. Hi Guys, Need to make sure i do this right. Gasket was torn and i am putting a new one. So clean the valve cover side and apply high temp sealant? put the gasket on top and tighten. Nothing on the engine side. Also, there are groves in the valve cover, do i have to apply the sealant all around the perimeter? (dumb Q i suppose!!!). Better ask than mess up. Can you advise?
  9. Rubber edge trim around the louvers...mine is very brittle.
  10. Hi Guys, Do we have any aftermarket replacement for the rubber around the rear lovers?
  11. I am looking to replace stock wheels/tires with this specs. I am not planning to put any extra fenders. Anyone with this kind of setup and can share the specs with me? So share your cars pictures...
  12. I am happy with the results. Came back pretty good. Thanks for all the support guys. I am getting the interior cleaned and putting insulation. Once done major would be suspension. Next project for summer.
  13. Dumb questions guys ... are the seats interchangeable? I mean are the seat anchors same for both?
  14. Just got some parts back today, blasted and powdered. I think the yellow came out pretty nice. I am planning to powder the hood, front fenders and bumper cover/spaces same color as well. Rest cannot come off so I am asking the shop to just give me the paint code πŸ˜€ Next item would be to take out the suspension and powder it all gloss black...thought to share...
  15. So guys I decided to do some patch work on my panels. I used JB weld to strengthen plastic around holes etc and it is looking good. Need some opinion on the color πŸ™‚ i found this pic on ebay on the list. My initial paint was all black but i didn't liked it. So i bought a Matt Grey from homedepot and it did not quite turned out to be the color in ebay product. I think it is kind of a smoky grey color. I am planning to try smoky grey kind of thing ... Appreciate if someone know a closer match I can find at a local store?
  16. So if the coolant is at MIN while the car is running and at operating temp top off the reservoir to between min and max at least? Seems like…
  17. Hi Friends, so my coolant reservoir is at MIN at operating temp after some driving. Does it means I need to add more? Should I just top it off to MAX while it is running in the reservoir? Thanks.
  18. Yeah hard to find. Datsun Garage i saw today has a complete fiber glass panel for $900!!!
  19. I thought this was metal. Seems like this is plastic and getting very brittle where the old iron rusted screws were. I suppose this cannot go in the heating oven after powder coat? Do they sell reproductions of it?
  20. I am able to drop the RPM in P to 1K with closing the idle screw. System looks really good at the moment. Plan to continue driving on HW for the next week or so. I think i need new suspension now (creating new post)!!!
  21. One final thing on this topic: my idle RPM in D mode are around 900 and in P (parking) they are a bit higher about 1200. Is P mode idle OK or high? Manual says to check idle in D mode and it is within range. We did change the thermal coupler on the fan as well. Temp was climbing at idle a bit but now it is stable a little below 1/2.
  22. @siteunseen guys problem solved. I tracked the green wires for the thermotime connector and it was hooked in the temp sensor!!! Car started beautifully. Appreciate all the responses.
  23. Hi, So my ignition issue is fixed (new ignition module). I tested the temp sensor today according to manual at cold. At coolant temp of about 58-59F the resistance across the temp sensor terminals was very slightly above 3K Ohms. This is in exact range mentioned in the manual. How can you test the continuity of the wiring harness for the temp sensor? Also, I have cleaned the bullet connectors and can someone confirm the temp sensor connects to the two GREEN wires through these bullet connectors? (I mean the other two wires are black and both connect to the thermotime switch via bullet connectors). Trying to make sure I have not done it reverse?!!!
