  1. I would definitely not put a cereal cardboard there. The original one is kind of paper but definitely not something that can shred particles over time and ultimately clog my injectors. I will just use the original one for now. It is a bit yellow but still holding strong. Also, seems like there are some Fel-Pro gasket paper options available on auto-zone/Oriellys etc. I will check out those.
  2. What material it would be? definitely not the cork thick one and I don't believe the original one was rubber either?
  3. Hi Guys, I am able to find cold start valve gasket but I have not been able to find the gasket which goes under this port on the throttle body? Any idea? or do i need make one myself?
  4. Figured it was not bad. Blasted and painted again. Looks new now. Thanks all.
  5. Does anyone make a reproduction of it?
  6. Hey Friends, where can i get this part located on the throttle body. What is it?
  7. https://www.automotivetouchup.com/touch-up-paint/nissan/1977/all-models/ These guys have the 305. Will be ordering a sample.
  8. Thanks for sharing the picture. I have the same feeling. It is definitely light blue and not dark blue. #305 Light Blue Metallic it is then. I have decided to go back to the original. Will post pics once I am through paint. Next step I am planning blasting door hinge areas and taking care of cowl area surface rust which has been a pain.
  9. Do u mind sharing a pic where exactly it is? mine is painted over yellow!!!
  10. Hi guys, mine is a 77 280z the original color is this blue and the second owner had it yellow. I need to go back to the original as all inside and engine bay is still blue and I like this color too. door and engine plates are too faded to tell anything. Is there any other place to look for paint code. Can someone help me identify this color.
  11. Changed my mind about blasting. What phosphoric acid rust removing product u used? I think i can work it off and then just seal it like you. Appreciate some guidance. Weather is gotten better and dry!!! Plan on picking up this tomorrow: https://www.acehardware.com/departments/home-and-decor/cleaning-and-disinfectants/rust-removers/13868
  12. Mine is stock 77 with stock bumpers. Had also stock 14in wheels and hub caps. I was also thinking with stock setup may be a nitro yellow. Toyota Supra has that shade. Yellow was looking good with stock setup. also I don’t think these wheels which I like would be a good fit with stock bumpers. Anyone running these wheels on their Datsun?
  13. Guys, planning to get the car repainted. Original was blue-ish. Previous owner painted dark yellow over it. I am thinking all out black this time. Can you share yous rides pictures for me to decide? especially any experience painting recently which you can share.
  14. I am not planning to put these Toyota ones back on. I am staying with the 2 piston oriellys, they have been fine. I dont race. I just thought may be these 4 piston ones are OEM and they are not.
  15. I am currently running after market calipers from Oriellys. They are 2 piston and stock bolt pattern. planning to continue using those. Will get these rebuild in that case. I think rebuild i am quoted $50 a piece which includes blasting, painting, new kit and assembly.
  16. So basically dont bother rebuilding, which would need blasting, parts and labor when these are not original and $50 a piece on Rockauto. I thought I had found unicorns
  17. Hey Guys, My blaster lost my 4 bolts. Do you know where to get em or the bolt pattern? 2 on each side funnel head.
  18. Just looked at mine and each caliper has 4 pistons. Thats why probably. Let me try to find any part number on them and will post.
  19. Hi Guys, were these standard on 280z? any thoughts about the 2 piston calipers. I have replacement calipers in the front from Oriellys but my originals which I plan to rebuild are 2 piston per caliper etc.
  20. Here in CA parking outside is not an issue in general that it can develop rust and stuff.
  21. Any good 280z car cover recommendation? One that is sturdy and also water resist or water proof. Appreciate if u can share experiences.
  22. I might take the dash out as there is a slight coolant leak from the vacuum cook valve etc. I have a replacement for that. Based on @jonathanrussell input too. I am thinking just to properly seal block the passenger side cowl where the blower intake is. Blast the other side as much as possible. Treat the passenger side like @jonathanrussell mentioned by hand. Later take the dash out to change the vacuum cook etc. This way any residual blast media if any can be taken out. Meanwhile disconnect the fan.
