Door glass window plate rollers install 280z
Guys, i took out the glass and cleaned everything. There are 4 guide rollers that slide into the regulator. Any chance someone had taken pictures how they fit on the inside of the plate holding the glass? I forgot to take the pictures 🙂 the hardware in the picture.

Weather stripping for 280z
guys, the quarter panel outer weather strip needs glue/adhesive. What have you used for that? is the black 3M weatherstrip adhesive good for this area?

Weather stripping for 280z
Thanks for the references. The Kia door seal look pretty similar to the McMasterCarr part being installed here. Seems like a good deal. Let me browse the threads for outer hatch seal as well which I also need. Car getting painted to original color as we speak 🙂

Weather stripping for 280z
Hi Guys, Any preferred place to get a quality weather stripping. I need the Qtr panel, door and rear hatch ones. Also noticed the original front door weather stripping which sits around the sill plate etc. has a lot more harder material than the rubber ones we see online. Should I try to save some portion of the original one?

Cowl rust blasting
Looked a lot of reviews and this product Rust Kutter came up on top above OSPHO. Both are Phorphoric Acid based. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001U1GW82?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details This thing works!!! my rust was pretty serious. Scrapped with a big wire brush and this is after first pass sitting for about 30 hours. Good thing is it creates a flaky black surface which I believe is the reaction residue which can be scrapped off with a wire brush. I think results are pretty good so far. I am planning to give it 3 rounds. Using the same treatment in the battery area which luckily dont have any pitting. Wanted to share the results and the product I used. Probably will also use that wet rag combination as well in harder areas. Slow and steady!!!

Port gasket on throttle body 280z
Seems like I was overly concerned. Thanks guys. I found the Fel-Pro 3060 has a paper material gasket piece. Probably will just pick up that. Trying to stay away from Kellog brand in my 280z 😆

Port gasket on throttle body 280z
I would definitely not put a cereal cardboard there. The original one is kind of paper but definitely not something that can shred particles over time and ultimately clog my injectors. I will just use the original one for now. It is a bit yellow but still holding strong. Also, seems like there are some Fel-Pro gasket paper options available on auto-zone/Oriellys etc. I will check out those.

Port gasket on throttle body 280z

Which color code
Thanks for sharing the picture. I have the same feeling. It is definitely light blue and not dark blue. #305 Light Blue Metallic it is then. I have decided to go back to the original. Will post pics once I am through paint. Next step I am planning blasting door hinge areas and taking care of cowl area surface rust which has been a pain.

Which color code
Hi guys, mine is a 77 280z the original color is this blue and the second owner had it yellow. I need to go back to the original as all inside and engine bay is still blue and I like this color too. door and engine plates are too faded to tell anything. Is there any other place to look for paint code. Can someone help me identify this color.

Cowl rust blasting
Changed my mind about blasting. What phosphoric acid rust removing product u used? I think i can work it off and then just seal it like you. Appreciate some guidance. Weather is gotten better and dry!!! Plan on picking up this tomorrow: https://www.acehardware.com/departments/home-and-decor/cleaning-and-disinfectants/rust-removers/13868

What body paint color to go with
Mine is stock 77 with stock bumpers. Had also stock 14in wheels and hub caps. I was also thinking with stock setup may be a nitro yellow. Toyota Supra has that shade. Yellow was looking good with stock setup. also I don’t think these wheels which I like would be a good fit with stock bumpers. Anyone running these wheels on their Datsun?

2 piston front calipers on 77 280z
I am not planning to put these Toyota ones back on. I am staying with the 2 piston oriellys, they have been fine. I dont race. I just thought may be these 4 piston ones are OEM and they are not.

2 piston front calipers on 77 280z
I am currently running after market calipers from Oriellys. They are 2 piston and stock bolt pattern. planning to continue using those. Will get these rebuild in that case. I think rebuild i am quoted $50 a piece which includes blasting, painting, new kit and assembly.
-
2 piston front calipers on 77 280z
So basically dont bother rebuilding, which would need blasting, parts and labor when these are not original and $50 a piece on Rockauto. I thought I had found unicorns
