Which screws do we need for the louver hinges - top and bottom? anyone know the size? I think they were sheet metal screws but not sure of the size.

Guys, i am planning to throw away this Ken wood stereo tape. Probably will install a more latest model. Just want to make sure it is not factory cassette player? the way it was hooked up is definitely aftermarket but just wanted to check before i discard.

Would never do that!!! Once you do that the door or hinge is permanently de-shaped. Never mess-up with the OEM stuff. I think i will just need to play with it a bit with loosen bolts and get to set it correctly. Will tackle down the line. At the moment I am trying to install the wiper motor!!! -
Guys, just a quick update. So the left washer in the pic is McMaster and right one from MSC (link below). I installed the MSC as the inside diameter is a better match with the M6 bolts which you need there. McMaster has more options too but they are out of stock for many. https://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/06772388

I think I have found the problem. Have not verified yet... This is the driver side door with the seal in. As you can see the top part of the chrome window channel is aligning well with the Qtr panel but the botom end is further pushed inside ... this is also consistent with the main door blue painted part also being pushed inside. We took off the doors for painting the car. I think I have to loosen the bracket bolts to the door and pull this one out a bit. For the passenger side I might have to push it back in. Will give it a try later this week.

Guys this is after I had installed the main door seal. I can probably live with it. But seems like the lower edge is aligned and not the top. How does your fitment looks? Can this be fixed?

Some regular washers might fit. My 77 has all 6 of them flat rusted and I dont have space to fit the regular ones. The McMaster ones work. These ones also fit a bit cheaper. Check your fit: https://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/06772388 I am receiving the McMaster tomorrow and will send a snap.

37 seems to point to the two you need on the inside to attach the headlight housing. Those dont need D washers.

Seems like they have these in stock: https://www.mcmaster.com/96025A221/ You need D washers here on 3 of the holes each side. 2 per side has those rubber bumpers. I am planning to just use all 5 D washers for now. Also flat side goes on the bottom as there is no space, that's the point for having the D washer here. I have few original ones but they are rusted. These new ones are great quality.

Hey guys, any good source to get few D washers for fenders? I ordered them through McMaster and it is back ordered like hell 18-19 weeks!!! meaning you never get them. Worst case I have to cut few myself (probably should have done it 2 weeks ago instead of waiting!!!).

Yes - this is on the to-do list at the end probably when i will also replace the windshield rubber seal - guess it will be easy when the dash will be out of the way.

Update ... finally hood, fenders and front body panels on. I have yet to install the main door seal which goes around the main doors. One quick question on these hood to fender bumpers ... I have the front round ones near the firewall/cowl area and they are great and dont let the hood vibrate. I can bring the hood down and slowly push it in to lock. But when I put these 4 fender bumpers I cannot do that anymore, I had to bang the hood down fairly hard to latch. I am not liking that, so far I had removed these 4 and feeling ok. Thoughts?

For the fenders that’s what I am going to do. 3M tape with silicon on the inside of the fender on pins. The barrel clips are too small for the fender emblems. The hatch emblem pins are good for barrel clips.

The diameter of the hatch emblems fit the barrel clips I have received. The two fender emblems i think are way too thick to even try to put the clips etc. Do they come in different sizes? or should i leave the clips off for the fender emblems?

Hi, I have a rebuilt original starter which works fine when the engine is relatively cold (assuming at that point starter is also less hot!!!). If I turn off the engine at operating temp. and try to start it again my starter just clicks. It seems that plunger when hot has some issues. It happened to me the other day and I waited for everything to cool down for 20 mins and started the car again fine. I dont believe it is the inhibitor switch etc. I have a rebuilt starter on a different classic car and I am seeing similar behavior. Anyone seen similar issue?

Hi Guys, my roof rain drip trim has only one retaining tab in it. I think I might have lost the other while taking it off or it didnt had more than 1. How many retaining clips each has? and are they available? any link would be appreciable.

If there is a room for a seal in this area on 280z then i assume without it there would be a gap. I dont drive in rain or wet weather even here in CA. Can report wind noise with or without it. But people who drive in wet i think this can help protect the sill area. You dont want water to be sitting under those for sure. Let me take the pics as well @zKars mine are coming too short once i start installing from either side. They have 4 holes which is what my door has but the 4th dont align like i said when you start installing either end.

Guys, pretty simple part to install with pins. I bought these online at ebay and they came short for my 280z. Anyone tried them from other sources. Would appreciate if someone can share a pic or 2. I am reluctant to buy from zcar as i feel i will get he same item which will come out short. Any reliable sources and if anyone saw this issue with 280z?

I have loosen the bolts and moved around the channel guide and it probably is working. One of the bolts doesnt align but window glides up. May be i need to keep fiddling as there is definitely nothing broken and I did not added anything extra.
