Carl, Because the Caswell product is water based, All "we" need is a sandblaster, brush(granted the disposable spray can might give a nicer finish-but with a waterbased material, I can't imagine humidity would rear its' ugly head), a sponge. and some twine. Surely within all of the questionable content of your garage, at least part(if not all) of that coud be found there! If not, you have a PM. Will

The rust issue is the reason I am using a coating-except with a turbo, 1300F will not be high enough, The Black Satin goes to 2000F. Black Satin (BHK) "Black Satin is the most advanced exhaust system coating available Withstands 2000f temperatures Easy to apply ceramic reinforced coating designed for high temperature applications Reduces underhood temperatures, reduces exhaust manifold surface temperatures Improve exhaust gas velocity, increase H.P. Air drying, requires no baking" Will

This is what I am using for the non-stainless parts of my exhaust. Black Satin found here: http://www.caswellplating.com/aids/techline/index.html#exhaust I am applying The Black Satin inside and out. Less money, same performance-don't know what it would cost to get to your side of the pond though! Will

Carl, I will look for my interchange book(from Raido Shack) tomorrow, and see what I can find. Allelectronics has some great deals, aparently because they are not the most familiar with what they have. I have been buying parts from them for years, but always knew what I was after-it is very dissapointing to know that they either don't have an interchange book, don't know how to use it, or don't want to be bothered. Will
  5. Carl, I knew you did/would/should/could-aw hell, I wrote that with you in mind(multiple personalities and all!)! On the email-I don't think I could miss it by any more! (my outbound server appears to be down) Will

I would say it depends on if you are selling it to me, or if you are buying it-in addition to Carls' comments Will
  7. I am coughing my brains out! No diaper duty for a while. I have been sick(medically treatable any way) for 5 weeks-in and out of Pneumonia, but consistantly Acute Bronchitus. The Dr. has finally put me on a script that is starting to turn the tide. I have been a healthy person until this year, next time, I will not wait to "let it pass", it only made it worse. Hopefully the tide is turning, and I can get back to living and being active again. Even sick I got my nuts off(you guys should be ashamed-I ment the jam nuts that are pertinant in this thread)! Perverts!!! Will PS-no chrome plating ot polishing on my suspension, I used tiewraps instead of steel rings for the bellows-I thought it would be better to make parts that will get dirty less noticeable, than to highlight the dirt on them!

Carl, You of all people know who Mike is, Mike is his member name... His signature line is: "When you do things right, people won't be sure whether you've done anything at all." Will

Interchange...or perhapse the next page. Will
  10. Remeber the thread is opposit on each end-easy to forget-tightening instead of loosening. 2 big wrenches, or 1 big wrench and a vice. Examine the parts, the end and its mate have flats on them for wrenches or a vice. Just in case you just need a gobfull, Quit chucking a sickie and give it a burl you mug:laugh: ! Penetrating oil never hurts, and in the last resort, a heatwrench on the nuts will pretty much makeany thing(or anyone ) let go of anything! Will

  13. Dave and I are working on suitable led conversionsfor the exterior lights, and in 6 prototypes, I am still not satisfied with the illumination of the lenses. My intent is to have the lenses uniformly lit-no bright spots, a consistant and equal glow through out the lens. You can replace the bulbs with leds, but those I have tried have left me wondering why visually. True the available bulb replacements use considerably less electricity, but they also supply much less even illumination. We are working on replacements that even the most anal-retentive Z owner would actually beg to buy, once he or she has seen the visual effect. Will

Come on Dan, We know you are sweet on the Olsen twins! Personally, Lori Laughlin is ALMOST enough eyecandy to tune in-but the chance of catching a Z in a commercial clinches it! Will

Wow what a turn of events, watching TV for the commercials! I would have the TV on Full House too(at least once), if I could catch the commercial-just the sort of thing that throws the Neilsons out the window... WIll
  16. Hey man, You still got that AUDITT? I had to have a laugh too! Don't hate me because you have a great car that looks like a couple of other cars... Will

At this point, we are interested in pictures, they will let us know if we should be interested in the car. Two more questions, Who is the owner? Is there a valid and defendable title? Will

Most of the bits for a 280ZX are less expensive than for the S30s, they are also much easier to find. I have a multitude of spares-I cleaned up an '82 grand luxury with t-tops, and accumulated more than I needed. all of the drive line from the engine to the differential is esxchangeable between the 240,260, 280s(including the ZX). For tthe most part any mechanical knowledge you gain on the ZX will transfer to the earlier Zs. The 280ZX is a more comfortable ride, but not nearly as much fun(I have both)-not counting tht t-tops. Let me know if you need any interior pieces, while most interior parts are shared, I have an 82 2+2 parts car(eng/ tranny is gone), but the rest of it is still there. WIll
  23. What Carl said, in my young and stupid days, I thought I needed a clutch, fortunatly, I had a great mechanic who took care of the problem honestly, and said he would wait to charge me until there was some real work to do. Will
  24. Should have bought Nissan! I didn't either, but mine came from the OEM supplier in Japan. Just bagged and tagged. Will

I haven never tried to move it away and pull the booster-sounds like it is worrth a try, but keep an eye on your lines, better to have to bleed again than to replace a crimped or collapsed hard line. Will
