Professionals use the words "economy" and "restoration" in a single sentance in only one way, and that is to say that economy and restoration do not belong in the same sentance. If the car is going to be sold, most knowledgeable buyers would rather have the car as is than have a cheep coat of paint hiding the care the owner has taken of the car. A cheep paint job is always done to hide something-and most people know that. If you go the school route, talk to the teacher and the kids, the more they "buy in" to the project, the better the outcome will be. Will

Think of what you have pictured as a strangely shaped mobile shelf holding some parts, and find a car to put them on. That mobile shelving unit holds a lot of latent frustration in it that is just under the paint and undercoating, lift the parts off and leave the frustration. Will
  3. One set of parts I thought about for the carbon fiber application was all four fenders-replacement skins in the back. My thought was leave them carbon fiber and work the side markers under them-the turn signal would turn the whole quarter into an indicator(Obviously a "little" more too it) lens, and really smooth out the body work. Even following the same theme through the taillights, a completely smooth body, no breaks in the body lines(other than seams-to make the parts(other than the rear fenders) bolt on, and a "smoothyZ" Definitely not for the faint of heart, or the stock fans, but an idea I found interesting. 4. Leave it to Carl to know about the JIS! Forgive the pun, but hold on to the wonder-I had noticed the differences too, but never encountered anyone at a parts department who could explain it before-this is South Georgia... Will

    1) Get the lower dash finisher panels from a 280Z, modify them to fit, and mount the speakers in them(fairly common, easy to remove for a show, and a factory S30 part). or 2) Mount a pair of dome midrange/tweeters in the steel dash finisher just inside the windshield.(common part, almost never taken at the junk yard-inexpensive and plentiful-but fitting can be somewhat complicated unless you use very shallow speakers, or surface mount)) or 3) Buy a set of door panels off ebay with the cut outs already in them. or 4) switch to Fierro or Miata Seats with speakers in the headrests. Wait for a realy good answer I am working on... Will

It will work fine-been there, done that, I actually applied it to the inside of the door where ever possable, and put sticky to sticky where the door panel was open-much quieter!, but I also ran a second seal on both sides of the window, to keep water out of the door on the outside and air and noise out of the cockpit on the inside. \ Will

Thanks MikeW! The Dynomat (or equivalent) will perform as a vapor barrier because the material it is made up of will not absorb or be dissolved in water, so as long as your seams are tight, it will work. Will

I just did a search and couldn't find it either, I will try again when I have more time, and post the link if I am successful-but there are plenty of other pertinant posts that would probably be helpful-search "vapor barrier" WIll
  18. That would probably be better asked in one of the Z32 forums:finger: -most S30 owners don't swing both ways ! Will

Either will do fine, Enrique wrote a great article for what you are getting ready to do-check the archives! Will
  20. I'd pay you now, and ask you to hold them until the MSA show next year-but that would kind of defeat the purpose of selling them! Will
  21. Stretch the line down the coast to Savannah Will
  22. Here is a link to the catalog page-it actually lists being very good as a flexable hose covering. Will http://order.waytekwire.com/IMAGES/M37/catalog/217_101
  23. I am going to be doing that in the near future, I have an '83 ZXT waiting for me to get to work on stripping the entire drivetrain from it to go into my '72. I the hope to start on it in next three weeks. Will
  24. Waytekwire has a braided shrinkwrap that will confirm to curves-I will see if I can find a piece to picture for this thread-might make a good cover. Will
